Unfortunately when it comes to the gps we are our own worst enemy. When ce's stay active on overtime on calls they have been done with for almost 2 hours why wouldn't the company question that? It would have been easy if the ce's would just be where they say they are. I can't blame the company for putting them in. Why should someone be afraid of having it in their van if they are where they should be? Too many surprise visits at sites and the ce's not where they say they are is why we now have to have the gps put in. So once again a few people have to spoil things for everyone. And how can it be a "security risk?" I would think it would be just the opposite."

nope-not the nut job-just a ce with 30+ years of experience. I re-iterate. WE HAVE BEEN OUR OWN WORST ENEMY!! It's so easy.. Why not be where we say we are? If you have a company and were paying people overtime and found out they were padding it-alot in some cases- wouldn't you do the same thing? Some of the things I see are ridiculous. 3 hrs on a first line atm call and the manager stops by and no ce there. the call was cleared (per gasper) for almost 2 hrs. !! and this happens quite a bit.. It's people like this that screw it up for all of us.


The GPS surveillance sends a great message to NCR’s financial and retail customers, ”Do not trust our CE’s because we don’t”.

see above.. Maybe they don't trust us because they have a good reason..It's simple-be where you are supposed to be. I don't know many managers who care if you take a few minutes and stop by the donut shop. but some of the things are so blatant they don't have much choice. If you cry about having a gps in your van you are probably one of the people that caused this problem in the first place.

I think you’re a great example of tunnel vision. Just because you screw off for hours does not mean the rest of us do. I've only known of very few people who did nothing for hours like you. Either they were fired or became terrible mangers who followed their guys around. They thought everybody was a dishonest crook because their point of reference was themselves.

I've been doing this job for almost 30 years also. The fuck-ups that did steal OT were fired. Their coworkers would rat them out and rightly so. Because calls that did not get done would be moved over to the good CEs call Que.

I'll admit the guys are not working like they did before the pay cut. The days of going above and beyond the call of duty are gone. But NCR is getting exactly what they’re paying for.

And one other thing the only CEs I could not stand are kiss-ass rat bastards like yourself. Next time you’re under your boss’s desk stick a GPS up your ass.

there is no doubt in my mind that you can all thank the author of #202 for the gps in your van. the loudest compaints are most often from the guilty. you, #202, are also why the unionnnn vote failed because no one wanted you protected, they would rather you get yours in the end in a most deserved manner.

You ever watch the show Two & a Half Men? Saw a rerun episode tonight where Charlie Sheen is going to some Honorary Function with this babe he's seeing. Anyway Charlies mother gives him what is supposed to be a tranquilizer to calm his nerves but it turns out to be a old "hit of acid" his mom had left over from Woodstock.
He ends up tripping his ass off at the Function and makes a fool of himself, plus the babe dumps him. It was laughs!!

We need to give Bill Nuti a hit of acid!!

to post 202 above.. where did you read i was the one screwing off?? quite the opposite--i am the one pissed off because the screwoffs are the reason we are getting the gps's. the managers won't fire the screwups because the replacements are even worse!! Obviously since you are so against the gps in your van you must be one of the screwups that is the reason the company is putting them in our vans again. why else would it make you so upset to have one??

There is a CE in my area that is so concerned about the GPS units. He's going to find a way to disable it because he is NEVER where he should be. It drags the whole team down too. He hates to leave the town he lives in, starts at 9ish and is home by 4 or 4:30. Ask him to leave and all of a sudden the call he has been sitting on for a week is a huge priority. The real shitty part is my TM wont say a word! He would rather beat up the guys that work hard!

Loyalty to this company will just get you used and abused. NCR will NOT take care of you. If you cost too much they will find a cheaper way without you.I don't work for them anymore. I can see it clearer now since not working for NCR. Outside of NCR your skillset means fuck all. Most people don't know who NCR is or what they do. If I was to do it again and work for NCR, or anyone else, I would just stay 7 years, then move onto another field of work. I wasted 30 years working for NCR. And when a Uion was needed most, alot didn't walk their talk. I have a feeling NCR will be one-step ahead of the game all of the time. They knew with all the newer employees, NCR would not go union.

well newbies-it's time to bend over and get yours now. Bill just send an email that all merit increases will be stopped for this year so no pay raises. New hiring stopped; in many cases no replacements for people who leave. Oh-but you will bet that piddly bonus. He didn't stop that because all the higher ups get all their money from that. Now if he really cared about "the company" he would be stopping all bonuses also and hire some more people so we don't lose more customers because of the crappy service they are getting...What an asshole

Top 5 List: 1) It is better than being unemployed; 2) My non-management co-workers; 3) Gotta love Dayton!; 4) Google wouldn't hire me; 5) NCRU
Cons
1) The fact you have to work at NCR. 2) Upper management doesn't really acknowledge the employees, and let's face it, without them, there wouldn't be a NCR. 3) No holiday party. 4) No holiday bonus. 5) It's 100 years old - and so is the thinking. 6) They make changes without fully fleshing out the transition. 7) Field technicians are expected to work too many hours. 8) Territory managers are overworked. 9) Poor morale.
Advice to Senior Management
Listen to your employees. Cutting headcount may save money in the present, but it negatively impacts the employees, thus increasing turnover, and therefore costs, as the company is required to spend $$ to hire and train a replacement. If you want to save money, how about starting by cutting the CEO's pay and perks - especially if the money saved can be used to retain skilled, trained, customer-level employees.

Anyone can write President Elect Obama about their ideas and stories to help the economy. I say write the NCR story. All this talk about green economy-- well one concept in the green economy is that the top executive should not receive more than 12 times what the lowest paid employee recieves. (Some people use a different multiplier but the idea remains the same. Top pay is in ratio to the lowest pay.)

There is no need to cuss- the facts of the story are stronger/dirtier than any cuss word. You wanna write something the President will actually read all the way through. Let the President know that the company is breaking your backs and driving health care costs through the roof in the process.- mention your never ending work day and your 90 hour work weeks and keep building the story from there.

The "Bread Route" guys in my area work long hours, drive long distences, work as hard or harder than me, and are under paid at $14.00 an hour. If your life is a living hell as a result of their work, remember FLT used to run all those calls and more. Some of you guys said FLT was worthless also I remember.

well when i get 14 calls atone site from them it is kinda retarded i could go there on a site visit suspend the call then go back the next day with all the parts and fix all the problems .

Today we in the NE region had a regional conference call with Mr. Burns. After talking about the "no raise" for 2009 and "no bonus" for 2008 because we did not make our numbers as of yet, some fuc**ng asshole chimes in and says how happy we should all be because we have jobs. This dickhead claimes he left a job paying TWICE as much as he is getting with NCR, but left it to come back here. Are you shitting me? Who in their right mind would leave a job paying double to come work in this shithole? Naturally management thanked him for his comment. What a fucking kiss ass! He is either crazy or stupid 2 leave a job double what NCR is paying him. There has got to be another side to his story. He either got laid off, fired or worse to leave that job. I wish I remembered his name but I was half listening until I heard his comment. We need to find out who he is and spread the word. He is a dangerous individual.
This site should not be using people's names but I think this may be an exception.
Also bear in mind that some anti-union people are reporting back to their TM's about pro-union talk. This will get people fired! More assholes !!!
PS - Nuti may have given up his raise for 2009 but he did not give up his BONUS. The money he will save by the NO RAISE issue will increase NCR's profitability thereby increasing HIS bonus for 2009. He aslo did not give up his 2008 bonus that I know of. Aren't we a bunch of jackasses! All of you that voted NO; how do you feel NOW????

The NCR President proclaimed a hiring freeze, salary freeze, and reduced travel expenses. Then a new Vice President is appointed (hired) , and the president still travels via the company jet back and forth between Dayton and New York.

Not only that, When we decided to vote against the union and believe this fucking company bullshit they served at all the meeting and pizza parties, we screwed the union folks in NY. You got your pay cut and now they are giving you some of it back. still a long ways from where you were if you had any time in the company. so really it isn't a raise-you only lost 6-7k in salary now.. but it is alot better than what i will get--$0..but with all the o.t we get because we are short-handed and alot of new people can't fix crap i will still make more than before the paycuts..

Just curious, I have been gone about 4 years now after 28 years at NCR. I never had my pay cut and feel for you people that did. Anyway what is the going wage now that wages have been cut, and what does a CE start at these days? Just wondering because I keep seeing the $14 hour pop up. You non-union people need to learn not to trust NCR, That's why they keep everything so low (pay, benefit's working condition's, etc)is so people don't stay long and it's harder to convince new people to join a union that a seasoned person who has been screwed over his whole career. to answer your question, starting pay for a ce2 is somewhere in the neighhorhood of 625 a week. top pay is around 22 bucks, around 880 a week. far cry from the 1250 a week I was making. we blew it when we didnt strike! We also learned! never give in!

When you say "Bashing" are you implying that the criticism is somehow unfair? Joining a union can make NCR behave. Holding them to promises they make in writing will go a long way in improving your opinion of them. When you're treated better you feel better, you work better and NCR does better. Why do Major Corporations always try to blame the union for their money woes. GM makes claims that the reason for the money troubles is the union. They claim their autoworkers make 77 dollars an hours. Non-union autoworkers make 10 bucks an hour less. thats still 67 dollars an hour! Now thats not how much money goes in the workers pocket, but total out of pocket cost to the company. I thint thats a bunch of BULLS&%t. You know thats padded. I read that the average pay in pocket is 28-38 dollars. We only make a max of 22 dollars an hour. I bet NCR doesn't even come close to laying out 77 bucks an hour for up. Those cheap bastards. Its time for a union vote again!

Was the vote in the northeast the end of the movement? The more members a union has the greater leverage it has to promote the welfare of it's members. NY/NJ only has 200 members so they couldn't avoid the hit but they're still doing better than all the rest. You have to want a union and put forth the effort to build it, it was worth it for NY/NJ and it's worth it for you. Do all you can to get this done, you won't be sorry.

NCR used to pay or treat the non union branches a little better than the union ones. Things have certainly changed, now NCR has sunk below the competition. The other guys are told "You don't have it so bad do you know what NCR did to their people?"
Union or not it was a better company than it is now. The IBEW can help turn things around and it can't happen soon enough.

It will probably take NY/NJ 10 years to catch up to the non union guys in other companies who are trying to take our customers away/back. That's not good news for our non union folks, NCR is becoming second or third rate in the industry. If the customer base continues to shrink there may not be enough CEs left to organize into a union.

According to NCR the skillset required to be a CE is rated at a "monkey". The pay for the task reflects "monkey see-monkey do" NCR doesn't need trained people to maintain their equipment they sell. The upper management in NCR are the higher evolved monkeys. They protect their banana stash, and steal from the lower level monkeys.To protect their stash, they keep changing the turf rules. The lower level monkeys dislike the higher level evolved monkeys. The higher level monkeys have announced new rules, that say no new monkeys can join the tribe, and everyone will get less banana's and have to do more monkey-business.

That fifth week of vacation is something that the Teamsters worked very hard to get, also a twelve hour maximum work day (if the CE chooses) and minimum eight hour down time but the company doesn't give the rest of you the latter two. That fifth week is at risk for non union CEs (And that's not the only thing). If you're not in the union you need to be. NCR is not going to let you organize but if enough of you want it they can't stop you. Sixteen votes will make the difference, you can have a more secure future in writing.

They thought that NJ would carry the day for management but they were wrong. We remain organized because we want to. We're constantly aware of management's desire to divide us and break our spirit, they thought they did it last July but they were wrong. If you can organize yourselves and get this thing accomplished you'll understand why we have been proud members of Teamster's Local 111 for nearly 35 years.

I mean you poor bastards with(over-time pay) went from about 80k per year too barely making 60k this year. Next year you'll be lucky if you make 50k with only part of the supplement pay, even with the OT. The worst part is your stuck because you’re too old to start a new career. If your doing your normal shift then on call evenings, every 2nd or 3rd weekend, your saving NCR from hiring another employee. If your doing work of 2 employee's, your making 40k per person. Your saving NCR about 15k per year . Your in a higher tax bracket. Your on call and can't leave your area. You sit in your house, looking out your window eating kraft dinner, and your RIM goes off. Your wife is naggin you because your not getting some things done. You have a limited amount of friends cause your always on call or driving somewhere to do a call. You miss birthdays, funerals, weddings. Your anti-socal. All you do is think about NCR. Your happy but your not. You get a shitty PA, and a bogus bonus. Your pissed. The idea being is that salaries/pay should be known-- and everyone should be paid a fair rate of pay for thier work. The site is free. In order to access the reviews you have to send in a review. Not much happening on the blog recently. Thats too bad. I would have thought the latest bad news from NCR would have caused an uproar. "NO PAY RAISES FOR 2009!" Those of you that were promised an increase to $51,550 should be livid. Ofcourse those Teamsters have a 3 year contract that was settled by an arbitrator that specifically states an increase to $51,500 on July 1st, 2009. Guess they will be the only ones getting a raise next year...

nobody besides the union was promised a raise to $51,500. we would have been lucky to get 2 or 3 percent anyhow. but ncr is paying for it bigtime now. just look at the o.t. people aren't giving it away anymore are they? and yet upper management is still too stupid or proud to admit they made a mistake. they said they can't get all these new contracts with the current cost structure. what kind of contracts are we getting where we have to cut and freeze pay? shitty ones--wendy's-a loser..most of the restaurant/fast food contracts are losers just because of the environment and the peopl running the registers. Ncr will never learn you can't treat people like shit and expect them to be happy and productive workers..

To those who don't like this post, tough shit! The more negative posts that are on glassdoor the better. Maybe NCR executives will finally get the message. I tell my customers, friends, etc. about the site, because NCR SUCKS, has FUCKED US and folks need to know!!

Just stumbled into this website glassdoor.com - that people write in reviews of the company they work for and tell their salary. It is all anonymous. The idea being is that salaries/pay should be known-- and everyone should be paid a fair rate of pay for thier work. The site is free. In order to access the reviews you have to send in a review. Then you can read other people's whole review. If it becomes public knowledge what people are being paid and how they are being treated = new employees may or may not show up to work at the company. The shareholders concern right now is uneccessary expenses. The fuel expenses from aviation fuel is almost equal to the fuel expendatures for maintaining of fueling the fleet of company vans. The New York office space is a concern as well, as the lease rate is another uneccessary cost. The pressure is on to show earnings on investment, regardless of economic issues. The shareholders are questioning the direction of this corporation. The leaders will be affected, and should be as they are accountable. As I am not invested into this corporation at this time, I suggest a "PIP" (personal improvement plan) be implemented on the responsible peoples who lead this corporation. It appears their greed has affected the profitability and direction of this corporation. The focus of R&D; Service have been replaced by giving valued-added service free to make the customer feel like they are getting more.The basic idea of why this corporation exists is being foregotten. The new-school leaders need to be taught some of the old-school ways. I hope to see some changes happen soon to consider any investment with NCR.Good luck to all, and I hope the leaders make the right choices.
