Now you know whay NCR has pushed all the ethics and PIP shit on us. They knew the FEDs were watching and the decided a smoke screen was appropreiate. Just screw the help and practice decitful sales tactics. TYPICAL!!!

Not surprising Bill Nuti had some other kind of improper federal charges against him when he was with Symbol Technology. What a Nut Job.

All that I know, is that many CE's and locations haven't received any cards. And I know the people will sign them, including myself. Most most are afraid to put their name on any mailing address. Also, I know they are intersted more in Teamsters, and keeping a solidarity and not to be divided as they were in years past.

I THOUGHT THAT THIS HIT THE MARK AND I AN SHOWING IT AGAIN FOR ALL THAT MIGHT HAVE MISSED IT..

Good morning all. In my own opinion, It would be in your best business to get the union onboard or at least voted in before the boys in NYC go to the table. The company has an agenda, and that agenda is to jam the new paycuts down their throats. They are paying big money to the union busting lawyers, they have us managers ready to go, and most RTSSs on board. The ones that are on board seem to have a lot of concerns about crossing the picket lines if there is a strike. No one want to leave home for any length of time. There also fear for their well being.

If you want to prevent a massacre, you guys must sign up now and show the company that they have more than NYC to worry about and they might back down.

I get this feeling that the company is using this as a tactic to lower the pay across the board and then they won’t care if a union is voated in. They would rather have a starting pay that is 400 buck a week lower and have the next regime negotiate up from there. It will show the share holders a larger profit and Bill should get a large going away package when his time is up. Then leave the union to someone else. I call it the Cheadle twist. Look what happened in Australia. Hit was a hit and run.

I am writing you because in my heart, I feel for you. This could have been me few years ago. That is when I became a Manager. I was in rework in NJ, Then they closed up shop. I became an FE servicing ATMs and proof. Then I was a group leader in a union office and moved out to another office doing some proof, atms and cisco. Now I am a TM and I must say I hate it but I have no other options.

I don’t know what else to tell you people. Its going to be real tough. The company does not tell us much, but what they do say is they have it all figured out. Typical of this company.

I am not sure if things will work out if the rest of the company does not have a vote in place. But in my heart i do feel that if one or two offices has a successful vote then it will be a lot easier to tame this company. What I will tell you is , our FOD and AFOD are very concerned about getting the work done if there is a strike. They feel that the TEAMSTER will not sit back and allow this latest round of insult hurt their members. I have heard that they have gone to Dayton and pleaded for this not to happened.

The rest of the country must stand together and help the cause. Do it before it too late. The New Yorkers will do their part and the rest of you must do you part. It can’t hurt you. Remember, I was in the union and Let me tell you that it breaks my heart to do what I do day in and day out and it would not happen if my crew were in the union.

In this day and age, you guys need protection from corporate America. I can’t understand how the think they can get away with this. You must push back. This, In my own opinion, is the start of a workers revolution. People can not sit back and allow big companies do this. It will be the cause of the next great depression.

I am going to step off my soapbox now. You people have the perfect opportunity to do something right for yourselves. The union was good for this company in NYC for so long and now its no good? Bullshit. The union always worked with the company. As a matter of fact, the company always paid the non union offices better for the longest time, but the union stood strong. It wasnt alway about the money. It was about the whole picture. And now look who is suffering. And The company will try and force this crap on NYC. If you all stand strand, and what I mean about that is, Join the union, the company will have to stand down. They can not conduct business with everyone on strike!

I feel for all of you. I was on the other side myself. I wish you all the luck and god speed.

GO UNION NOW!!

One last thing. All of you who read this. Please know that I am a TM and I wish I can go public. I am a god fearing christian and I would not lie. I believe in your cause and feel that I am on the wrong side of this fight. I need a paycheck. You also need a bigger paycheck. I dont carry a toolbag anymore but please know where my heart is. I have been asked to go to NY but let it be known my head and heart wont be in it! Those who know me, will know wrote this. I will deny it. I hope my guys go union. Thet deserve it. They are a great bunch of guys. All of you are a great bunch of guys. You deserve better

To the new guys that are perusing this blog...I'll keep it short. I haven't been at this job very long, And I like my pay, my benefits, my hours, my workload. I hate the idea of unionizing and standing up for better working conditions when I have no complaints about the conditions I currently work under. I'm not greedy and I don't feel entitled or like I am owed this position.
This is exactly why I signed my card, and asked for more to give out.
I don't want to lose what I have, and in the past few years, I've seen not only NCR guys get shafted, but Diebold, IBM, IT departments of entire companies; NCR weathered the cutbacks the best, but in the end,all were cut back. My rtss is an rtss because he couldn't stomach/afford another pay cut. I don't wanna be in his position thirty years from now, or even five years from now. But the only way to guarantee that is to sign that card and send it in.
Speaking of cards, if you're out on a site one day and open up a receipt printer or scanner pcb box and there's a union card in it, you best sign it, or give it to someone to sign - that's why I sent it to ya!

YOU GO GIRL!!! EVERYONE SHOULD WAKE UP AND SMELL HE COFFEE.

COME ON NEW ENGLAND, WE NEED ABOUT A DOZEN MORE CARDS SO OUR REGION CAN GO TO THE NLRB, THEN WE CAN HAVE A VOTE! IF YOU KNOW ANYONE WHO IS SITTING ON THE FENCE SPEAK TO THEM ABOUT THE BENIFITS OF A UNION AND GET THEM TO SEND THEIR CARDS IN. DO IT TODAY OR NCR WILL BE OUTSOURCING OUR JOBS BEFORE WE KNOW IT!

And now the end is near. The TEAMSTERS have started negotiations with the company. We need to go to a vote so that we can show the company we mean business. It will help the cause for all involve. If the company has any success in removing the union in NYC, we will not have a basis to follow for any contract that we might get. If NYC wins, so would we. we must get to a vote as soon as possible.. I know for a fact after a few phone calls that New England and the rest of the northeast are almost there. Lets show them and the rest of the company that we mean business. Please stand up and be counted. WE HAVE THE RIGHT AND WE MUST NOT FAIL!!!

Let's face it you like being screwed by NCR. Just bend over and enjoy.

At first it feels good right. I mean you are getting more than you got at you last job, Right. Company van, cell phone good solid company, and better pay, all good things (lubrication) you can't even feel it sliding in. After a few years you start to feel something, it doesn't feel right but things have been good so far so you just dismiss it. A few more years go by, you look back and notice you are being screwed. What do you do now? You look around but no one is offering you more starting to do the same thing. After looking around a little you realize that its not so bad. A few more years go by an the lubrication is all but gone The things that made this a good company to work for are gone. The lubrication is gone. You look back again and NCR is smiling at you. You look around for something else and you realize that if you leave you loose so much including your retirement. You are now raw and you remember the way you things where, but you can't do anything about it now. From now until you retire you are hurting, raw, and sore with a happy NCR behind you still enjoying what he has done and is doing. You have lost so much and think if you can just make the new guys understand what is happing to them maybe they can get out, but no one will lesson because the cycle is starting again. You retire unknown from the company you worked for your whole life.

As much as I would like to see this happen I think it's stalled and going nowhere. It seems the majority of workers just don't care or are scared. Everyone I talk to is for it and oh yeah I'm sending in a card yet they don't.
I hope things change but I am over it. I'm job hunting and suggest everyone else do the same.
I want a job that someone gives a shit about you and they are out there.

Thanks for the vote of encouragement their pal.

I think you should try getting a job at the suicide prevention hot line place.

I think that NCR is on it's way out anyway. I am on call every other week because we don't have enough people. We take on more accounts and don't have enough training or resources to succeed. I want the Union, but I really believe it may be too late. Maybe I'm just burnt out from another 70 hour week on call. If we don't get the Union in I will be leaving for greener pastures. Morale is as low as it can get. Ce's that have been here for years don't care anymore about anything but their numbers. The know how to make it look like they are working hard, but they are not. I blame upper management for creating this very poor work enviroment. It is really depressing.

Fellow Employees,
As mentioned on the Q1 Employee Webcast, we have started off the year strong with revenue of $1.18 billion (up 19% over Q1 2007) and a 45% increase in non-GAAP income from operations to $55 million. This is a commendable effort and one that has not gone unnoticed by the media, shareholders and the analyst community.
"Profit jumps 41 percent on record sales to banks." -- BusinessWeek
"NCR posts 41% rise in net." -- Wall Street Journal
"NCR announces...year-over-year revenue growth." -- Fox Business
"NCR is in the process of launching more than 30 new products in 2008, which should yield the strongest new product launch year for the Company since being spun out from AT&T." -- Keybanc
"NCR posted results ahead of expectations, driven by growth in the Americas and EMEA." -- FTN Midwest Securities
I am proud of our team for the solid execution we've delivered in Q1. However, we still have much work to do. While maintaining our momentum, we must simultaneously drive improvements around the critical success factors including order linearity, funnel growth, margin improvements and expense reduction.
If you have not yet viewed the webcast, please do so to learn more about our business and what is needed for us to maintain our momentum. Additionally, please print out the Critical Success Factors chart and talk with others on your team about how you align to these areas so you ca n help operationalize our strategic intent in Q2.
These are exciting times for NCR, as we strive to achieve our fullest potential. I'm counting on your continued focus and execution, and look forward to our next quarterly results update in July.
Regards,
Bill

Guess what, They have not grown the company in intrinsic ways-- they have just re-arranged the accounting sheets so the investors are happy. NO ONE went up in Q1 of this year. EVERYONE tanked. My IRA fell by 16K! (greater than 10% in one quarter!) Who are they joking.
What tangled webs man weaves, when he practices to deceive.

Can't believe it.... I get 3 to 5 calls a week bitchin about pay cuts.. no raise... too many hours. too many new customers with equipment we're not even trained on... No parts, BAD parts.... * CE 3's cryin on the phone.. I mention Union...... they disconnect, they laugh and say I'm crazy. they tell stories about how they were in a union 40 years ago and the stewart "picked" on them. They say they can't afford to pay the dues... almost as much as a hamburger with fries and a drink...

They ask about the New York contract and we are told "their contract is up the end of June.. We have a 100 TM's and another 100 RTSS people already assigned to go up and train the 3rd party company we are outsourcing the work to. They will be online in 30 days max after the contract expires. Sound like bargining in good faith??? phew!

Sounds to me like the fat cats need to take the ethics course they keep craming down our throats... Our ethics are not the question... just our willingness to stand up and defend ourselves against the wolves!

Anonymous said...

Reading the previous post it appears they are not renegotiating? NCR is outsourcing NewYork? Is this for real or BS?

Anonymous said...

Outsorcing is a "quote" within 30 days of contract end "IF" the union does not agree to pay cuts like the rest of the world... Is it true or Company Scare tactics???

ITS BS. WE ARE ACTIVELY AT THE TABLES AS WE SPEAK. I WON'T SAY THAT THE COMPANY WILL OUTSOURCE IF WE CAN NOT COME TO TERMS BUT ITS ALWAYS A POSSIBILITY. ONE WAY TO DETER THE COMPANY IS FOR THE REST OF YOU GUYS IS TO GET SIGNED UP IN THE UNION NOW. THE COMPANY WILL BE UNPREPARED FOR A MULTI FRONT WAR. COME ON GUYS.PLEASE DO NOT WAIT TILL ITS TOO LATE. JUST GET THOSE CARDS IN AND WE WILL ALL GET A CONTRACT WE ALL CAN LIVE WITH. THIS I PROMISE.

YOU GUYS BELIEVE CRAP LIKE THIS, YET YOU WON'T BELIEVE WHAT YOUR COWORKERS WHO ARE FOR THE UNION TRY TO TELL YOU HERE ON A DAILY BASIS. WHY WON'T YOU GUYS WAKE UP AND SMELL THE F#$@ING COFFEE!!! DESTRUCTION DAY WILL BE HERE BEFORE YOU KNOW. LETS NOT WAIT TO SEE HOW NYC MAKES OUT. THE FACT OF THE MATTER IS THAT THERE ARE SO MANY POCKETS OF UNIONS POPPING UP THAT THE COMPANY WILL WANT TO MAKE A STATEMENT TO THE REST OF US. THAT STATEMENT WILL BE "YOU SEE, WE HAVE JUST SQUASHED THE UNION IN NY AND THE UNION CANT HELP YOU." THAT IS A SCARE TACTIC THEY HAVE BEEN BANKING ON..THAT IS THEIR ONLY DEFENSE. ITS IS PHYSCOLOGY 101.
IT WILL NOT WORK IF THE REST OF US JUST SIGN IN THE UNION. IF A UNION IS VOTED IN THEY WILL BACK DOWN. I KNOW THIS FOR A FACT BECAUSE MY FATHER WAS A LAWYER FOR A UNION BUSTING LAWYER FIRM IN THE LATE 1960s AND LEFT BECAUSE IT BROKE HIS HEART. YOU SEE HIS FATHER WAS A SHIP CAULKER AND HE WORKER HIS BALLS OFF TO PUT HIM THRU LAW SCHOOL AND NOW HE WAS TRYING TO PUT UNION WORKERS IN THE STREET. IT WAS HYPOCRITICAL! I SHOULD HAVE FOLLOWED IN HID FOOT STEPS! I WOULD BE RIGHT THERE DEFENDING YOU GUYS. PLEASE DON'T LET THIS SLIP THRU YOUR HANDS. VOTE FOR YOUR UNION NOW!

THE COMPANY OFFERED THE UNION A 1 YEAR PACKAGE DEAL THAT INCLUDED A RAISE. WHY YOU ASK? THAT IS BECAUSE THAT IS THE TIME FRAME THAT IS NEEDED TO GET ALL THE OUTSOURCES IN LINE FOR A TAKEOVER.
YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BELIEVE ME BUT I WAS AT THE FIRST MEETING AS AN OBSERVER. I ALMOST JUMPED OUT OF MY CHAIR AND CHOKED SOMEONE. THATS HOW ANGRY IT MADE ME. PRESENT FOR THE MEETING FOR THE COMPANY WAS OUR NEW FOD, YOU SEE OUR OLD FOD WAS FIRED THE DAY BEFORE MEETINGS STARTED. HE WAS BEGGING THE COMPANY TO RESIGN A CONTRACT AND MUST HAVE ANGERED SOMEONE. THERE WAS ALSO 3 LAWYERS FROM JACKSON LEWIS, AL PARDO, AND SOME NEW AREA MANAGER BY THE NAME OF ELLIS. THEY LAID OUT THEIR AGENDA. AND ALL THEY COULD SAY WAS THAT THEY NEEDED PARITY AMONGST THE CEs. THAT WAS ANOTHER WAY OF PUTTING PAY CUTS TO US. OUR LEAD NEGOTIATOR TOLD THEM TO SHOVE IT WHERE THE SUN DONT SHINE AND SAID WE WERE LOOKING FOR A 10 YREAR CONTRACT. HE ALSO SAID THAT HE WOULD GO BACK AND RECOMMEND A SHORTER CONTRACT IF THE COMPANY CAN GIVE US AN EQUITABLE CONTRACT TO PRESENT TO THE MEMBERS. IT WAS FUNNY. I HAD TO BURN A VACATION DAY SO THAT I COULD GO AND WATCH BUT IT WAS WORTH IT! THOSE JACKSON LEWIS LAWYERS WERE LOST. THEY LOOKED LIKE A DEER FROZEN IN YOUR HEAD LIGHTS. THE ONLY GUY PRESENT THAT HAD BEEN THRU A NEGOTIATION WAS OUT FOD AND HE DID NOT SAY A WORD. I THINK AL PARDO MIGHT HAVE BEEN IN A UNION AT ONE TIME HIMSELF. I HOPE I CAN GO TO ANOTHER MEETING SOON.

To The Poster Above: This is very similar how it
happened here in Canada. It took NCR aprrox. 1 year to
find an outsourcing company. I am unsure of the exact
amount per call NCR pays the outsourcing company, but
from the information I gathered it is about $120 per
call. This is a flat rate the outsourced company gets
per call, be the call be close by or 2 hours travel
time one way. The outsourcing first started with the
remote areas. The outsourcing company does not do PM's
as a proper PM takes a few hours and the flat rate
does not cover the costs. If they do outsource, the
outsourcing company will try to hire on at least one
NCR tech to train and mentor, after 6 months or so,
they usually will lay off, or terminate the former NCR
employee and put their own selected employee in that
position. For those who apply and are hired by the
outsourcing company, you will be paid approx. $14.00
per hour. Overtime is eliminated, as they pay straight
time or actual running time per hour at your regular
rate. You will sign a contract with the outsourcing
company and agree to their employment terms, thus
eliminating protection from the labor board. Foreget
about having a service van, they will give you a Ford
Focus station wagon.Remote areas that should have 3
people to cover the shifts will have only 2. You will
run FLM, SLM calls, and if the outsourcing company
does their own equipment, you will do their calls
also. Eliminating the overtime is the only way an
outside company can make money on this contract. The
company they use in Western Canada (excluding BC, as
it is union) is AMPM Service Ltd. To be on call after
regular hours, you get $1.00 per hour to carry a
pager. If your called out, you get actual running time
the call took to complete, and not at an overtime rate
of 1.5 per hour. The selected outsourcing company will
still have SLA's to report to NCR. So nothing changes
there. If you have any questions about outsourcing,
leave me a question on this forum, I check in here
daily to feel the NCR pulse. You can stop all this by
getting going on this Union. The more territories that
join the better. I reccommend especially the remote
techs get involved here. Right now, it's a race
against time to get these cards in and get majority
intrest in joining the union. If you have a card,
haven't sent it in, get it in. This is how NCR will do
it, outsource your jobs. It's cruel information,
sorry, but it happened to me. Goodluck and take care.

I am sure most of you have taken the " NCR Corporate/Personal Integrity Program that is required. You had better read and fully understand what they are saying here! 3. I understand that neither this booklet nor this certification constitutes either an express or an implied agreement establishing duration of my employment with NCR, nor do they in any way limit the NCR's rights or my rights to terminate that employment at any time or for any reason (subject to applicable law and the provisions of any applicable collective bargaining agreement).
If you live in a " Right to work state " ( ie..California ) NCR can and will fire you at any time for no reason and be within there legal rights to do so. Of course... if you have a " Collective bargaining agreement " that means a UNION.....they must abide by that agreement. Please understand Ladies and Gentlemen what NCR is telling you. Make no mistake about it, they will not bat an eyelash when the next cut comes. And no one....I mean NO ONE will be protected without a union in place. For those of you sitting on the fence this should be a wake up call! For those not interested in a union remember what I said above! NCR is putting it right in front of your face....If you choose to ignore it then you know what will happen! As Joe Friday would say " Just the FACTS Ma'am " If you think this is not true just look into it for yourself. God Bless us all.

NCR is among the elite companies worldwide named to the 2008 Global Outsourcing 100 by the International Association of Outsourcing Professionals (IAOP). NCR was specifically called out as among the top new entrant honorees, as well as one of the best 20 companies worldwide in the retail and consumer goods outsourcing space. To achieve this award, companies must demonstrate excellence in categories such as size and growth, customer experience, depth and breadth of competencies and management capabilities.

I have to believe that NCR has decideded that they are an Outsourcer. They say that they have been voted top outsourcer. BULLSHIT. They activly persuded this award. They have even lower pay to put themselves inline with their competitors. They will now market themselves to persue that business. There is not many products out there with the NCR logo on it.

I AM TELLING YOU GUYS IT IS OVER. WE HAVE BEEN SCREWED. FORGET ABOUT ANY PACKAGES FOR YOU OLDER CEs. PAYS WILL NEVER GROW. OUR LOYALITY IS NO LONGER APPRCEIATED. WE HAVE BEEN SCREWED.

I HOPE YOU ALL COME TO YOUR SENSES AND VOTE THIS UNION IN NOW!!!

Confessions of an NCR TM

Guys, I know that this is your site and that I shouldn’t be posting here but I just can’t hold this in anymore. NCR hired me to be a Manager then they turned me into an SS Agent through “Fear and Intimidation” techniques that I could not even tell my Priest about at Confession.

I don’t want to be a part of this CE Genocide Policy. I am Truly Sorry.

Anonymous said...

Lets keep the ball rolling. It is a matter of time before we unite. VP'S, FOD'S, AOD'S, ASS'S, ECT WILL NOT STOP THIS MOVEMENT. GO UNION,

Anonymous said...

I was informed that the company wants us to start working 6 days a week, at least 10 hour days, because they have decided to have a hiring freeze, and dont have enough people to do the job in our region. And if the backlogged calls dont get met, they may fire the TM's.Another brilliant decision, cut peoples pay, then ask them to work more overtime for less money. I bet they cant understand why people aren't jumping at the chance. I am sure the upper management at NCR are intelligent people, but they dont have the common sense that God gave a goose. We cant get a union fast enough.

Confessions of an NCR TM – Part 2

Guys, after a long conversation with my wife, I have decided to resign my TM position.
I am willing to sign an affidavit attesting what NCR forced me to do to the CEs.
Without quality CE3s I cannot do this job and I hoped that NCR would understand this.

Good Luck & God Bless.

hmmm working extra hours... we in our region (or territories as in at least 3) aren't allowed more than 3 hours ot per ce per week. we dropped from averaging 12 hours per week last year to 4 hours this year and they want us to cut even more... sounds like different regions are in different situations
And before anyone asks... yes our sla's suck.
So in our region some ce's want a union to demand their ot back... and in others regions you want less OT...
My head is spinning

Can anyone tell me what a single person territory will benefit in hours (not pay or length of contract guarenteed employment) if they are on call 24x7 except vacations?
There is only about 38 hours of work a week on average in the winter and 55 in the summer time so hiring another person is not an option, because they would outsource temp for the summer. If someone covers me from another part of the state they have to stay overnight leaving their family at home. Again these are my hours from last year and I have no F*&%*ng idea what is going on now with ot.
I would rather someone just answer this with a reasonable comment rather than just join the union, because my decision is already made on that. I just want to know what you think I should expect with union restrictions on OT and on call.

Anonymous said...

From what I have heard the union is going to pay you 800 a week if your a ce2 and 700 a week if your a ce 1. (read comments above 7 or 8 days ago) If they do that screw the ot, we can work 5 for better money and support our families.

Anonymous said...

ignorance abounds on this blog. the unionnnnnnn doesn't pay you anything (see above stupid statement). you pay the unionnnnnn, and receive, in return, nothing other than an opportunity to go to a meeting to sing the unionnnnnnnnn anthem.

Anonymous said...

HEY ASSHOLE ABOVE, GO FUCK YOURSELF AND GET OFF THIS BLOG. A UNION GIVES THE EMPLOYEE'S A VOICE, SOMETHING WE DON'T HAVE NOW, SO NCR CAN'T KEEP FUCKING US! YOUR PROBABLY A GOD DAMN MANAGER OR KISS ASS EMPLOYEE, GET THE FUCK OUT OF HERE AND BURN IN HELL YOU RAT BASTARD!!!

Anonymous said...

If Ncr outsources aren't the TM's disposable also??????
You would think they would want the union to save their jobs too. Maybe they are getting false promises also. Wake up and smell the stench TM's and CE's alike.......

Anonymous said...

The question is. If the company has 100 thousand man hours in OT a year, What does that tell you? 1st that is bad management. 2nd that says thatyou are short handed. 3rd they can cut that number by more than half by hiring shift people. but that would require them to have to pay benefits to more people and god for bid if the company spends more money on the help. The company does not hire shift people the just take from the head count and swing them. there is probably more but I cant think clearly anymore. As far as not having as much OT, well here in NYC, we have so OT that I am sick of it.

Here is some food for thought. One day I ran in to our AFOD while I was out to lunch and he was light up! He was having a Liquid Lunch and he was talking crap about how he can turn calls off and on with a phone call. ie..dell, cisco, quantum. I dont know how true that is but thats what he said. He is the biggest bullshit artist I know.

Guys its time to think about all that was good about NCR and all that is good about having a union in this day and age. NCR has made the first move with the last 2 re-band. Now its time for the CEs to make the first move. The union must be signed in if we are to survive.

Anonymous said...

Send your cards in, Cowards, or this will happen to us. Grow some balls and fight like men.

My 73 year old father, who was in a union until he retired at the age of 61, wants to know what's wrong, "Why don't you have the union yet? Are they stupid"? I told him no, being stupid would be a good excuse. "THEY'RE COWARDS AND KISS ASSES".

Anonymous said...

This company should change it's name from NCR to OBF.....
If they know parts are so bad, why don't they fix it??

Anonymous said...

What will it take to get all you guys to send in those cards?? Its obvious that lowering your pay, the inability to get a promotion, forced OT when the company feels like it or no Overtime at all does not seem to motivate you!!! I guess you fence sitters dont want more money or overtime. How about admin time or downtime? How about personal use vehicles. How about the feeling that you have someone who cares about when this company would throw you a boat anchor if you were drowning!!! Come on and get your cards in. Its your right. it will cost about 1 half hour of pay.. you guys spend more on that for lunch.. Get up and be counted. You will all be sorry if you let this opportunity slip buy. NYC and Phili hsve a union already. The reap the benefits of the union on a daily basis. The rest of us need the same. Come on in the North East. Vote already. So the rest will follow suit. I want it now. Summer is coming and I want to spend it with my family and friends and not having to be forced to work because my boss says I have no choice!!!

to the person who said we are cheating the company running all this overtime and said we are sitting there looking at a machine for three hours then sending it to someone else--boy are you nuts. i run very few 1st line calls and also have almost 400 hrs. o.t for the year. we are swamped with calls because we are short people. they are quitting everytime i turn around. we get more to work on and they don't replace most of those who quit. when they do we get newbies to replace experienced people who knew how to fix the machines AND THE CUSTOMER!! also-who said sla's aren't part of our bonus? please point me to where you heard that! from listening to chris wallace the ce's are still rated on sla's for part of their bonus.

Our days are numbered. Without a Management team who has the ability to grow WCS they will continue to do the only thing they are good at, cutting costs. I don't believe Cheadle is going to stop with FLT doing only the Wal-mart store visits. I'm guessing he has other jobs in mind for them, all of which will take more work away from us and funnel it to the lower cost work force. Last week they sent some of the "Bread Route" guys (FLT) to Chicago to do break-fix work on the Super Valu account. Then they brought in contractors to do the Walmart store visits. A union may or may not be able to save us, but I really think it is the only hope we have for a better future at NCR.

Anonymous said...

What do you think FLT has been doing for the last few years. We did all the retail work around Philadelphia and the Visits and Installs and First Line ATM work. We also did Fastlanes and Proof.

Yes, I know what FLT has been doing, but for the most part FLT was only in the large cities. Now FLT is doing the store visits even in the rural areas all across the country.

Anonymous said...

We have two guys running retail. I am on call every other week. I average 65 Hours my oncall week. I close an average of 8 calls a day. I have no one to pass a call off to as you say. I do the return call to replace ordered parts. I am the one being cheated at $15.00 an hour. I have not had a weekend off since January first when I was transferred over to NCR from FLT. I work 13 days in a row and get four days off a month. Eat Me.

Your TM knows more than what he is telling you. When my job was outsourced, he knew about it approx. a year before deployment. The reason he does not tell you is they need to retain workers until the transition to outsourcing is completed. In my case it was a 6 week . During this 6 week notification period, NCR will suggest you apply for work at the outsourcing company. The outsourcing company will hire some techs to mentor the outsourcing company's employee's for 3 to 6 months, such as when, they will terminate the hired tech's position, and put their own people in that position that were mentored. As I mentioned before, overtime will be eliminated, being on call for example, you will be paid $1 per hour to carry a pager, then if called out, you get actual running time the call took to complete at your regular pay rate (not overtime rate).NCR is saving alot of expenses by not having their own hired employee's. Plus the tax implications are also an advantage for NCR to outsource. A co-worker that needed employment worked for the outsourcer is now unemployed by them, as he trained their techs how to do the job, then was terminated. My advice would be not to seek employment from the outsourcer if you have other options. If you need more info, ask me in here, I check in now and then.

To Outsourced Canadian Guy:

What happened to Managment?

If you had a chance to vote a union in would you have?

Is British Columbia still union?

Are they still NCR?

How do convince a bunch of pussies to send in thier union cards?

Did you have as many men with no balls when you were NCR Canada as there are here in NCR USA?

Did you know if the USA was invaded by a foriegn enemy, NCR CEs would tell them' "Do what you want to the woman and children but leave us alone"?

Did Bill Nutty come out of the closet in Canada?

Did he do bet you have no balls Friday at CTEC to the Candian CEs like he does the US CEs?

If you had an army full of girly men who could win the war but dropped their weapons and ran away, what would you do?

Should the real CEs with balls left at NCR stay and try to convince these sissys to get a union or should we just say fuckem and start looking for another job?

Here's what I know. Many years have told me this, we won't get anywhere fighting with each other. Lets just say we all work hard, we all get shafted by NCR, and we want a better life during working hours and after. Lets find a way to get names and addresses of NCR CE's to the union, so they can send everyone cards. Right now I don't believe they have them ,because a lot of CE's aren't getting cards to send in.
We need to get "together" if we are going to get anything done.

It was found by contracting the maintenance and repairs of proof machines in Canada did not work. To the posters above. You can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink! But you can hold his head under water till he stops struggling. Just like NCR did to us. They cut our pay once..Then they finished the rest of us off now!! We should have orginized after they "TUB"ed us the first time. But we didn't. NCR just lead us to the river for the 2nd time and held us under the water till the rest of us stopped struggling!! Because they knew we would not put up a struggle. The only ones that will continue to thrive at least for the next few yearss are the Teamsters in NYC. If we get lucky, they rest of us will come to our senses at sign up!! What else did you expect when the company dicked us 3 years ago, and we did nothing to prevent this from happening again. The company had us all figured out.

BTW "TUB" stand for "THROWN UNDER the BUS"

Guys, more cuts are coming. Management is currently identifying what they say are poor performers. You know, the CE3/2 kind of guys that may only run 2 or 3 calls a day because they work on the big stuff. now it seems that 20.00 a hour may just be more then they want to pay. They will get rid of some more CE3/2s and promot some CE1s and only have to pay them 15 to 16 an hour. Coming soon to a territory near you.

Anonymous said...

I heard the same...get this fucking UNION on board..GoodBye to all the RTSS's guys first and then the rest will follow...The union is our only hope..NYC will be the only ones to survive the next round. Because of the union..

There is a saying of " Cooking live frog with cold water". You put a live frog into a cold water and keep boiling it. Te poor frog would not do anthing for it does not feel anything wrong at first. Then it still feel OK for a while even the water is becoming warmer but still acceptable. But when te poor frog finally realizes IT IS NOT RIGHT HERE, it is too late it HAS BEEN OVER.
I am nor sure it is too late for us now, but I know it will be too late if we do not react now.
The top managers will not just stop its agenda after tis cutting of pay. So long their is a place they can cut the cost or save AND THERE IS NO RESISTANCE FROM THERE, they will not stop. Dusband 2nd lines few years ago,Stop the pension last year Cutting salary now. It will not just stop here. Thay do not care how many years have you loyally been working for them, how much contribution we have given to make this this company's success.
If I am layoff because the company is in the brink of bankrupt, I would go without any complain. But NCR is doing very very good. The change they bring in seems to me is" taking the money workers deserved into their pockets".
There is only one option left here, it is "UNION". We need to form a UNION to get the fair share we deserve.

Looks like the CE's arent the only ones Cheat-le lies to. Seems his great win-back of Super Value market has gone bust. He promised them he would have enough people to do the job, yet every area now has to bail his sorry ass out again, because he cant get enough CE's to work in Chicago. He hires afew, pays them nothing, then poorly trains them, works them into the ground and they quit. Heard 9 CE's walked in one day and quit. So to let him save face, other areas must send their CE's, leaving them short handed, and unable to make their numbers. What do think THIS will do to those unfortunate areas bonus's? Screwed again. I dont understand how this man still has a job. But the CE's who will bail him out obviously aren't worth the money. We only keep the company afloat. He will makes his financial numbers at the expense of his CE's, and his customers. And I guess after SuperValue voids their contract, it will give him an excuse to layoff more CE's. I have exhasted every avenue to get people to sign these union cards, I hope its not too little, too late, or we will all soon be gone, and Cheat-le can run these calls himself

NEWS FLASH

In an unprecedented move, NCR today signed a Two Years contract with the IBT NYCEs.
NCR Negotiators said that the unexpected release of the $60 million dollar Chase Bank
ATM Service Contract prompted them to make the IBT an "offer that they couldn't refuse"
A Jackson - Lewis spokesperson said that they plan to sue NCR for breach of contract.
"this case resembles the EnerSys Corp. failure" said Jack Turdball of Jackson - Lewis.

I was an FLT Person. I know FLT People. They are NOT supposed to fix problems, only minor things. They have many stores to visit in little time. As for assholes, how about NCR techs who just close the calls FLT are required to place without ever doing anything. On the next visit the FLT Person has to report to his manager that the call was never compleated. Then his manager has to call your manager and log YOUR fake call closure. Most of the People left at FLT in my area are TEAMSTERS who average $15.00 an hour. So do YOUR job and they won't have to be wipeing YOUR expensive ass. They also do quarterly PM and fast lane PM along with weekly visits.

Anonymous said...

hey flt piss up a tree they make more than me then.
as far as there "pm skills" well let us look at those "pm's" i have seen SO fuckin many fastlanes that look like cheat all drop his harry ass on them and just shit all over

ok they do there job

mark one up for flt asshole

You are a moron, some of them have benn here over thirty years. They got the balls handed to them four years ago by NCR. They went from $25.00 an hour down to $13.00.

Hey guys, enough already! This is Cheatles fault and upper magement at both FLT and NCR. These FLT guys are not trained the way we are. About five years ago NCR had Permond do store visits in my area, I got a call from a csm asking me to get this guy out of the store because he already brought 5 regs down. I spoke to the permond guy and he told me that he was just hired and that they gave him a tool bag and written instructions on how to pm a register. The point is FLT and NCR are doing the same thing now. On a conference call we were told to train these guys, I dont think we should have to hold their hands and guide them through every step. Thats FLT's job to get them trained. Its not the FLT techs fault. Hell I think they only get 13 or 14 dollars an hour. Most will agree thats all they are worth. But we cant really blame them. NCR has done nothing but take away from us, yet they want more out of us. I think we ought to let FLT bring NCR down. The way they bring down registers at walmart. Let them create so many work orders for US to fix, then when we close our call we can put in the comments BROKEN DUE TO FLT. I'm sure WalMart and NCR would take notice. WalMart see's everything. And if you get any flack from your TM for your comments, ask weather you should LIE to the customer or tell the truth. Enough! Get those cards in so we can GO UNION

Anonymous said...

alright already..Now we got to get this union onboard..I want some sort of a contract like NYC!!! I am tired of all this fighting ...you guys sound like my kids fighting over the last cookie!!!

no just tired of all the bullshit and havoc this hairbrained scheme to piss off the customers has caused lets face it walmart stores not corp offices are not to happy wih the uality of store visits being done and it needs to stop

my workload is up 100% since flt took the store visits away

i would just like to take them back and do them my self at least

i know that they would be done properly

and customers would not be pissed at me when i walked in the store

just frustrated thats all

i know it is not all flt's fault just needed to vent before i start to being a total ass to my family

yes this shit is starting to effect homelife guys

Some FLT guys suck, but some are NCR guys who got caught up in the retail reorganization. I worked with a guy at FLT who has been here 35 years. He was forced over to FLT or have no job. He has more retail knowledge than anyone I have come accross in NCR. He was cut from $25 to $15 and had his vacation cut from 5 to 2 weeks. At 60 years old he did not have too many options and had to take it. Some NCR techs are also Bums who don't want to do a days work anymore. Let's stop the FLT NCR bashing and get down to the Union Business. You will end up like the guy above sooner or later if the Union doesn't happen.

We could have been signing the same contract along with the Teamsters today. But we had too many pussies that did not send their cards in.

So when your working your ass off and not making shit don't get mad at Bill Nuti or Cheatle. Get mad at your cowardly buddy because he did not send his union card in.

Also when you get laid off or forced to work for an outsourcing company. Don't get mad at Bill and the boys turn your anger towards those coworkers with the big mouths who said "The union won't do nothing but take your money".

Get the pussies to send in their cards now before the IBEW tells us to “Fuck off we have wasted too much time and money on you cowards”.

Let's not forget to pray for and remember our war dead and their families this memorial day. Without their sacrifice this blog or the ability to fight these evil, rich, greedy bastards with a union would not be possible. If the wealthy had their way we would all be slaves.

The freedom to fight back cost thousands of men their lives over the last 232 years. Let's take advantage of it.

Chris's Blog is a joke, made me laugh so hard my guts ached. Another joke is the "NCR Shared Values" : treat people with respect..... it appears Nuti should get a bad performance appraisal for not following a company's protocal. I'm glad New York has motivated workers that are smart. Walmart weekly visits are a joke too. SLA's are another joke.... I change all mine to CPC type calls, and clone them. The "bitcher's" here are another joke, quit bitchin and send in your damn cards. Having a NCR office like ours is a joke too. While IBM is building sky scrappers, NCR is building shit houses. The equipment we work on is a joke.... NCR picks up customers no one else will. Bottom Feeder. There is alot of intelligent people who repair the equipment for a wage that is rediculous. What's up with that? Why even give a shit at the wage you work for. Just CPC the calls, and clone, clone, clone. Hope I have a better attitide tomorrow. You send in your card yet? Walk your Talk and send in your cards. I'm getting out if we don't Unionize. Until then, I don't give a shit .

Just for curiosity, where does the New York / Long Island / Northern Jersey Union stand with NCR and the negotiations. Aything new on this front?

I'll send in my card, when I get it in mail, so will my fellow workers. Still waiting for cards ..

To the person who wrote about doing email, hours reports, eating sandwichs, etc.. on personal time, there is an answer.. you don't do it. Period, end of story. If the boss doesn't get the reports on time, he'll send you home to do it. It is the people who do these things for free, that punish the rest of us. So the answer here, is NO.

I agree with the previous post. As it is, we are availiable to them 9 hours a day, you are intitled to lunch and 2 15 minute breaks. I used to go without eating I was so wound doing all the crap they wanted done. It's not worth it, I got an ulcer. Humans need fuel, you need to eat. I feel a whole lot better since I do take my lunch at least. I don't care if the calls escalate. I leave my rim and phone in the van, and have lunch. My TM asked me why I haven't updated ETA's or answered the phone, I politely tell him I was having lunch, and reading a book, and my rim and phone are in the van. Nothing is "that" important you need to carry your phone or rim with you on your lunch break. It's your own personal time (your lunch break)

Right now is a tense time. June is approaching; everyones job description is being accessed , everyones performance will be reviewed. Those not meeting NCR's performance benchmark will be terminated. If your employed by the end of June, you're probably safe for the rest of this fiscal year. It's another round of "creative accounting". The main targets in the service arena are the RTSS individuals. Their tasks are almost completed, they have mentored in the new hires and NCR feels comfortable their overpaid and not needed. Summer vacations for some will be permanet. The newer employees should be ok as their already a cost saving device; and their not a threat yet,as they will put up will alot more bullying until they see the light like the other long term employees. Good luck and hope you are still here by the end of June. The card you haven't sent in is/was your ticket, but it's almost expired.

Read the so-called employee handbook, and it states that everyone gets a lunch, and if anyone should bother or harass you during that lunch, it is against company policy and should be escalatred. Black and white. So, yes, leave the RIM and CELL in the van, hit the diner, smoke if if you have them, and relax.
By law, in most states not all, no company must give you a lunch or break. But if they DO give you one by choice, then they MUST NOT BOTHER YOU OR MAKE YOU WORK DURING IT, not even answering phones, or else they must foot the bill and pay the 1 1/2 rate. That's the law babes. If most areas are like mine, it seems Control Tower people purposely send calls to the guy ready to eat. SOmetimes it is amazing how often it happens. As for me ? The call will wait, I don't accept it, I don't acknowledge it, and if control tower calls, I dont answer until lunch is over. THEN, when smeone asks, I TELL THEM, it's lunchtime. Then I ASK THEM, if they take their phones to their lunch.

GO UNION, screw NCR mgmnt. I hope they all burn in corporate hell someday.

Ask Yourself These Questions :

Are you happy at NCR?

Are you learning at NCR?

Is NCR hiring?

Does NCR listen to their employee's?

Does NCR have a plan?

Does NCR actually fix its problems?

Does NCR promote from within?

Is NCR open about its finacial plan?

Are Your Accomplishments and Contributions Noticed and Valued?

Do you look forward to Monday?

Alot of my answers make me wonder why I work here. Is it just me or anyone else here that feels this way? Being a tech, I wouldn't ever consider a TM job even if it was offered to me. You can't made a decent living in NCR w/o working OT. My family is more important to me than this dead-end career. The way we are treated is just pathetic. The ones who haven't sent in their cards must be all pumped up about working here.FFS, open your eyes, give your head a shake. NCR is a disfunctional company to work for. There is 2options; GTFO, or Unionize nationally.

Anonymous said...

What is it that you like, what is it that you don't like about NCR? What are your expectations of NCR?
I think their would be more I like about NCR if it was a UNIONIZED. All I expect is to be treated with respect, payed a wage that is the industry standard. NCR will not give you this openly. It's unfortunate NCR has disgruntled their employee's to a point they need protection from their own corporation they work for. Poor management decisions, untrusting , greedy mandate, and kiss the customers ass mentality. Each one of us is on their own without a UNION.

Anonymous said...

One of the problems is not the dirtbags failing to do a good job it's NCR holding CE's accountable for BS numbers (SLA's) they can't control or make.

If control tower sends you 4 calls (which they do all the time), without any insight to what or where they are and you have 2 hour commitments, just how do you make 80 plus percent? Last time I checked my van doesn't have the new James Bond helicopter option installed.

If you are expected to run 5.5 calls per day you can not miss one of those calls without missing your number for the day. So do you lie (bill when not truly billable) or just except the fact you are considered a dirtbag??????? Ethics come in to question. It's not about being a hard worker and doing the right thing. It's more about giving the man the inflated number and hanging paper. I refuse to do that hence I suppose I am one of the DIRTBAGS YOU SPEAK OF......

I don't consider myself a socialist or a union guy, but the alternative here is looking pretty bad. If you plan on making this a career then something needs to change and I don't think management is going to take any cuts to help the NCR cause. They will do exactly what they are doing now. Force the workers to suck it up and give them a song and dance about how it will help the company overall for better alignment of the workforce in the future.

Translation..... Workers get the shaft and management get to reap the benefits. I think that is what got the Unions started back in the day.
We have rights and they need to respect us.

GO UNION

Unions take care of their own "bad performers" through educating, warning, and eventually shunning them (I can't discuss the other remedies).
The offenders usually get the message (or maturity kicks in) and all is again well in CE-ville (without using NCR's degrading PA / PIP process).
The union environment promotes sharing knowledge & information (Imagine a workplace free of back-stabbing, brown-nosing, and ASS-KISSING).
I have witnessed many "bad apples" go on to become "top performers". Unions take pride in that tradition.

This is NOT a reason to avoid joining a union!

Anonymous said...

I agree with the above statement. As a former Brown-noser, I hoped that I would get ahead at NCR.

Now, I am just a CE2 like all the other guys (and I think that they are practicing the shunning thing)

This is what the union would do for me.
1. give me hope my job will still be here in a few years. With benefit costs that are not to the moon.
2. Force the company to stop making stupid unplanned decisions (ie. Gant) and the latest retry of FLT.
3. Give the tools BEFORE I need them not after then blame me for not getting the job done on time. (ie: install guides)
4. Help us CE's be successful together. Why do I have to call some jerkoff 9000 miles away for a question when many of you have the answer and are willing to share. Why I can find thousands of complex forums on the internet on subjects such as gaming, but NCR has no way for us to collectively get together and share fixes. Why?? cause NCR don't want us to join together.
5. Stop NCR from cutting manpower then turn around and complain about OT or missed SLA's. (number 8 is similar to this)
6. Force NCR to increase the standards of Hire. Some I know join don't even know simple DOS commands. (IE..ipconfig)
7. Fix the Parts so we can fix the customers... They make me look bad. Our parts are a reflection of the system as a whole. If it takes 3 or 4 tries to get a part that works, there is a problem.
8. Treat us like we are a vital part of the company. Don't transfer out members of my team, cut headcount then use our lack of not being able to keep up as reasons why we don't get our bonus. This is crap and you know it.
9. Answer our emails and return our phone calls. If your going to put your name in a Samm as a account contact, shouldn't we be able to talk to them if needed.
Try calling on a Friday......

This is not about fighting with Upper management like you say happened at GM. This about what is right and wrong and who has the guts to fix it. I see you don't. I am not a socialist, I am an NCR employee who wishes those on top would make good business decisions that are based on loyalty, trust, fairness, workmanship, quality and pride.

I have one other example. New customer called Supervalue. Was NCR prepared for this customer to come online? No! Did NCR throw the NCR CE's into the fire on this contract? I believe they did. Is this good business? We now have the contract. Now what! Pull CE's from other areas to get the call volume down.
I say we get a union and see if we can fix some of these things together. I realize that some of these issues are not fixable in a union, but by gaining a union we would have a voice in curbing the endless stupidity that you and NCR seem to be happy with.
Good luck
Fellow CE

He was complaining about CE's talking to much in front of customers and how we shouldn't do that. This kind of stuff never oust to happen when this company treated their employees right . They just don't get it, what is wrong with management these days? Is it the schools that they all go to? Where do they learn that if you treat your employees like crap they will exceed for you? It just makes me want to get back at them anyway I can. A few years ago I would have done anything for NCR. I went out of my way to bring in revenue. I went out of my way to keep the customers happy. This was my company but now it is just my job. They just don't understand that you get what you give. Now everyone get your CD and get your quarterly talking down to.

At an all-niter install, NCR,IBM, and the Unisys tech were on site. I played the CD and man did we laugh. The IBM and Unisys tech burned copies of it to send to their TM's. Man did we laugh.

My brother is an FBI agent and did a voice analysis of Cheatus's voice pattern. It appears his voice pattern is similar to a well known terrorist that is wanted for interntional crimes. I will keep you updated if any further info is released.

Yes, my cousin in the FBI said the same thing about MR. Cheatem. He also said that Bill Nutty has ties to the "Gay Mafia" and is being investigated for bone smuggling.
