Hopefuly the RTSS will see they are being used by NCR to break UNION. If NCR WINS, SAY good bye to YOUR jobs as RTSS. You be just another shit bum CE.

It is not too late to NY/NJ and all of us. NCR will and have to play hard on NY/NJ because they are afraid all other areas will go UNION if NY/NJ can get or loose nothing from new contrac. But thank you , the Northeast CE, it is a WAR NCR is loosing. It is clear that no matter what NCR can do in NY/NJ about the contract, The UNION is forming NOW in other areas . NCR is realizing they may win this BATTLE to NY/NJ with a HUGE COST but they are loosing the WAR to all of us. Thay may now think stop/retreat this battle to NY/NJ for it does not make sense any more.
The new developement will force NCR to rethink its move to NY/NJ. It is not one area only any more.NCR need to fight EVERYWHERE, It is now NY/NJ, Northeast will be next then CA,TX,....NCR can not afford to fight everywhere. So It is the WAR NCR is loosing.
NY/NJ's contract talk is undergoing now. Thank you, the Northeast , YOU DO HELP A LOT. Hope the other areas will follow you ASAP.

Anonymous said...

why is NCR refusing to debate with the union???
sounds kinda fishy to me what does NCR have to hide they might have to treat us alittle better????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

To the post above..I think your right. The rest of the country must show solidarity.

Money they didn't have to maintain the CE3 pay grade.

LIES LIES LIES BY NCR ABOUT UNION INITIATIONS FEES.

Q How much are Union Dues?

A The dues will depend upon what the local needs to operate efficiently and effectively. However, the dues will be set by you, as a local union, with the exception of the International portion of the dues, which is set and voted by all Local Unions at the International Convention every five (5) years.

*****However, no dues are paid until the majority of workers vote to accept a contract they helped to negotiate.******

******All initiation fees will be waived for members in newly organized units.********

Anonymous said...

It's coming down to the wire in NY/NJ, hope we can count on your support and prayers as we try to reason with a negotiating team hell bent on crushing and destroying our union. We will stand strong together in our fight. No matter what happens you should not let anything deter you from organizing your own union. If you're too afraid to act with determination and solidarity it will mean the end of anything resembling a field technical career at NCR.

the reason the media isn't picking up on any of this is because it isn't newsworthy. no one cares about a bunch of loudmouthed crybabies trying to get a unionnnnn to cover for their ineptness (that means you aren't capable). you need to face reality. a ce isn't even on the bottom rung of the ladder. as much as you think the company cannot get along without you, you couldn't be further from the truth. you're trying to hold onto a way of life that no longer exists. you're destined for the same fate as telephone operators and goat herders.

guys don't foreget to smile while this is happening
remember service with a smile

Anonymous said...

Without a capable experienced CE workforce you would have no customers. I am pretty sure NCR is a service company. You are more than likely a manager or a new 12 dollar CE.
Either way without topnotch CE's they wouldn't need you. Now get back to your conference call and explain your horse crap numbers to your inept manager that just can't understand why you can't motivate your CE's to give a crap about the job.
I say job because that's what it is. It used to be a career. Upper management has made this just a job.

Go Union

Has anyone noticed how crappy everything has become- NCR sucks - I will be leaving, union or not this company blows... For those of you who dont know - there is better out there, you just have to look....

I truly hope the Union makes it though - this is the first company I have ever worked for that I can truly say needs the union - you poor bastards are being used and abused by these guys.

FYI - anyone interested in leaking bad business practices to NCR's customers let me know - I am preparing a wonderful information packet to send to them. - it can be anonymous - more to come -

Some questions I have:
Question 1 is: IF a strike comes about in the NE, DOES the Union support us? What do we do for pay during a strike?

-----------------------------------

You say "All decisions about our union’s budget – including salaries for our elected union officers and professional staff who serve us- are made at our annual convention by our elected union officers and professional staff who serve us – are made at our annual convention by our elected delegates"

Well we ALL have seen what happens in Washington with "Elected" delegates, they vote the way they get PAID, not the way the people want them to.
----------------------------------

Question 2 is: WILL they vote the way we want them to?

---------------------------------
Question 3 is: Just how much is our dues going to be? I have heard so many different amounts I would really like to know.

----------------------------------
I also noted that on the page "What NCR won't tell you" that the print for the "Strike" section is smaller than any fine print on ANY contract I have ever seen, but there are no rebuttals to what the "company" may tell you about strikes... How come? DOES IBEW have something to hide?

-----------------------------------

Look I have belonged to several unions (Teamsters and Engineers to name 2) and they all helped me in time of need. Although in 2 of the unions the "shop steward"s were real jerks and never did any actual work, so the rest of us had to take up their slack. I AM voting for the Union because I believe NCR is screwing the CE's over. I would just like STRAIGHT answers to the above questions.

So if someone DIRECTLY associated with IBEW could answer them I would appreciate it.

AN NE NCR CE (Who sent in his card and will vote YES to the IBEW)

Dues are 1% to 1.5% of your base pay. They have been for about 35 years. Its all public record.
Call Steve Smith (number on http://ncrworkers.blogspot.com page)

He is LOADED with info.

Anonymous said...

for the man with the questions
first DUES

dues is 1% per week plus international per capita $12.00 a month the 1% on $670.00 weekly pay is $7.60 a week approx $42.40m per month

the 1%is local union union dues that rate is set by the members of the local on a vote any changes to that has to be proposed at a union meeting , then the membership has to be informed in writing of the proposed dues change and time time and date of next union meeting where it will be discussed and voted on.

the international per capita is set at the international convention by the delegates each local union elects their own, the number of delegates depends on the number of members in each local

now salaries and budgets and officers this is like dues the ibew international union has its own set of officers president, international secretary treasure, executive council, and regional vice presidents , who draw their salaries from the money paid by each members per capita dues $12.00 a month. they are elected at the ibew convention that takes place every 5 years, your delegates elected by the members of your local local union vote on these issues

all local union officers, and delegates are elected by the local union membership every 3 years

union officers salaries are in the local bylaws and to be chanced have to be voted on by the members in the form of a bylaw change(in 1990 the members of ibew local 2222 voted to cut their officers salaries to help the finances of the local this was proposed by the officers who's salary was to be cut)

budgets of the local are voted on every month at the monthly union meeting where all money spent is reported by the executive board the executive board is the financial watch dog of the local

STRIKES

first a strike in the ne region at ncr is is very premature to talk about, first the union has to be elected then we have to assemble a bargaining team from the eight ne work groups and start to bargain a contract when an agreement on a contract is reached by ncr and the bargaining team it is given to the ncr members to accept or reject the length of a contract is normally three years . with the acceptance of this contract we move on at the end of this first contract is the first time there will be a chance of a strike, you the members at ncr will vote weather to strike or not not the ibew or the bargaining team YOU THE MEMBER. 97% of all contract negotiations are settled without a strike. The union and the company in most cases work hard and long to settle contracts. I believe 30 years of contracts between the teamsters and ncr prove that.

If there is a strike the ibew does not have a strike fund that pays strikers sometimes that may make it easier to call for a strike AND WE WANT TO MAKE IT CLEAR ALTHOUGH WE ARE NOT AFRAID OF A STRIKE IT IS THE LAST RESORT

HOPE THIS IS HELPFUL KEEP THOOSE QUESTIONS COMMING

Anonymous said...

Come on NYC. You guys do not deserve the beating that the rest of us got!! Stand up for whats right.. Take the company downtime and bring them to their knees. Dont worry about a strike, it wont last long. we will continue remind the company that New England will be next to strike and force the company to deal with you as well as us.

Anonymous said...

People pleae send in you cards. If we had just sent them in like we should have, mybe NYC would not be in the hole!!

Anonymous said...

First of all Steve Smith does not EVER answer his phone nor does he return calls. We really need representation that works WITH us and will answer questions and his frigging phone!! Keep giving out his number and people will really get pissed and not bother voting at all. Why not give out a number that has a REAL person at the other end if you want us to vote the union in????

Anonymous said...

Mr Answerman:

You forgot one:

You say "All decisions about our union’s budget – including salaries for our elected union officers and professional staff who serve us- are made at our annual convention by our elected union officers and professional staff who serve us – are made at our annual convention by our elected delegates"

Well we ALL have seen what happens in Washington with "Elected" delegates, they vote the way they get PAID, not the way the people want them to.
----------------------------------

Question 2 is: WILL they vote the way we want them to?
Actually what is to say they WILL vote the way we want?????? Why not have a national vote where we ALL get to say what happens??? Is the union afraid they can't control us all, but they can the "delegates"?????

The man with the questions. (And yes I do have more)

Comment on union dues:
I have paid union dues for many many years and I always think it is a best bargain I have ever had.
It is like the premium of insurance. We are protected from many things and we have got fair pay for years.
If you pay 1-3% of your salary for a reasonable working enviroment, managers have to treat your fair, you don't need to please your manager to get raise, you would not be harrassed by your manager, you would not be treaten to be fired by anyone for any wrong reason, your salary will be increases every year, you can stop working after 12 hours working, you will not be forced to change you shift...
I think it is a bargain.

When the Injustice Outweighs the Fear

One of the warning signs that there is need for a change at the place you work is when you are afraid to speak to a co-worker about the need for change. All working people live with a certain level of fear for their continued employment. We have people who depend on us. They need us to put a roof over their heads, food on the table, and provide medical care among other things. Most of us live week to week and some maybe month to month but that is the extent of our safety net. Should the company we work for and more importantly the company whose economic well being depends on our labor take advantage of our fears and exploit us? The company doesnt issue a statement that you cannot speak of change. They dont say that there will consequences for your speaking out. Then why are most people afraid to say publicly that they want change? We all know the answer to that question. What the company says and what the company will do are two very different things. Right now they have the power and they will use it. They used that power recently to steal money from the dedicated employees of NCR who are responsible for greater than expected earnings the company so proudly announced. I have not spoken to one CE who expects to receive the same compensation as Mr. Nuti receives but reasonably expects to be fairly compensated for their contributions to the companys fortunes. To receive a pay cut based on some market survey rather than your contributions is as I said before; stealing.

The company has the power now because the workers stand alone against the money, the managers, and the lawyers of NCR. If we stand together and demand fairness then there is not enough money, or managers, or company lawyers to deny what is rightfully ours. The reason we cant be defeated is simple. We are NCR! Managers direct the workers, and process the paperwork. We the workers the deliver service, were the reason that the company not only survives but thrives. We not Mr. Nuti and his staff of mangers are NCR! Lets stand together and demand what is rightfully ours.

For you who have not been affected yet by the company pay cuts (rebanding is a corporate word for theft) and may have even gotten a modest raise; take a look at the CEs who were cut. They are the senior people who dedicated themselves to making NCR a company with a reputation for excellent service. They did a damn good job of it and what was their reward a pay cut. When you become the senior people what do you think they will do to you?

For those who have received the pay cut and are afraid to stand up ask yourself is this the end of the cuts or a new management philosophy of corporate greed. How far do they have to cut before the job wont pay the bills?

This is a job worth standing up for. This is not a company having economic difficulties. They have the money to treat us decently as evidenced by the recently announced greater than expected earnings. It is a job we take pride in. It is a job we will have to fight for to keep it that way. We have the right to stand together and demand fairness. We have the right to speak with our co-workers about bringing about change. It is our choice whether or not to exercise that right. Lets stand together we owe to our families..we owe to ourselves.

Anonymous said...

remember region 125.. do not let the outcome here in NYC deter the efforts you guys have made to get to a vote. you see, we have only begun to fight. if it turns out that we strike, so be it. we will alway be a union and we will be there to support your efforts. We know that you will support our efforts as well. send a message to the company that we did nothing to deserve this. The company has had been making the financial headlines lately and making money. we should not have to suffer because of bill nuti's need for greed!! lets stand for what is right and demand that the company changes their views about us!!!

FOR THE MAN WITH THE QUESTIONS

I am sorry if missed that question or didnt make it cleear

Delegates to the ibew convention are elected by the local union members in an election the business manager is the only delegate by virtue of his office the rest are elected by you the member and are members like you. it is not like washington where they are voting on thier salries they are voting on salaries and money to run the international union.

the local union finances dues, paying of bills, and saleries. are all part of the local union bylaws theese bylaws were established when the local union was formed and can only be changed by a motion at a union meeting a debate and a vote. all bylaw changes that pertain to money dues raises ect. have to be motioned at one union meeting then a notice to all members with the time and place of the next meeting and the change that will be debated and voted on(in 1990 the members of ibew local 2222 voted to cut their officers salaries to help the finances of the local this was proposed by the officers who's salary was to be cut) YOU ARE THE UNION YOU RUN THE UNION

NY/NJ Union update:

THE FIGHT GOES ON. Unlike nonunion CE's who just have to eat whatever shit the company gives them.

Union rejects NCR pay cuts.

Teamsters and NCR agreed to let ARBITRATOR JUDGE decide contract.
NCR will be forced to open books.

No strike Union guys are still working for same pay until NY Judge decides.

Bill Nutty is still a Homosexual and enjoyed being told to stick the pay cuts up his ass.

Anonymous said...

to all u doubting thomas'..you have now witnessed the power of representation..We got more walking money, we have garrenteed admin time, garrenteed lunch hour, we kept our personal use vehicles, we are still ce3s and we did not get locked out, no strike.. We will now go in front of a NY judge and NCR will have to prove its case. We the union already have it documented with a federal mediator who stateds that NCR has much to prove with having any proof that need this kind of a payut to stay in business. I doubt they can!!

So remember this when you are deciding to send in that union card.

GO TEAMSTERS

Come on guys its time..NYC is still rolling. NCR made it sound like they were ready to roll if NYC striked. But I will bet my last buck that NCR agreed to arbitration because they didnt have a replacement workforce that could handle the job. Also make it perfectly clear that CHASE Bank stated that if NCR did not handle the strike perfectly that the 60 million dollar deal was off. Heard it straight from the hourse mouth!

I am a ce in NJ. I just found out about the strike.. have received no offers or comments to join a union. I hate getting screwed.. my manager is inept and his boss is a bullying dick! I have been working av every other week for well over 7 months. I was hoping for a career but i am seeing now this is.. just a job.. as much as it sucks to see that. To spill the beans they have hired SMARTTEK Or SMARTECH i dont know the spelling. They are hiring cab drivers and truck drivers and paying them time and a half on weekends.. i dont even get that... and they are to be the replacement for ny.. and theyre having them trained right here in nj doing ride alongs with unsuspecting ce's.. .who dont know about the union... who dont realize how badly theyre getting screwed..who dont realize now that they have screwed the ny guys... people like me... can i say no!? and vote yes?

Anonymous said...

To the poster above. There are no replacement employees for NY. They were brought in just in case NYC were LOCKED OUT. They are unskilled and unprovened. Get your story straight. The teamster's pulled a rabbit out of their ass and made the company back down. Now it will be up o the courts to determine if we keep our pay or take a paycut. Please look at the facts. NCR has had 2 banner years, or have been lying to their stock holders(sound familiar, ENRON). A judge will see that and say that NCR is financailly stable and paycuts not necessary. We have already agreed to 2 consecutive days off, downtime after 12 hours, admin time, a raise in the walkers pay, and we still have personal use vechiles.

IF YOU ARE SMART, GET THE UNION SIGNED IN!

I really hope your not a CE because I can't believe anyone is still this stupid. NY/NJ Teamster CE's just avoided pay cuts and your still questioning a union.

Please tell me your management or a union buster.

Maybe your Bill Nutty's boyfriend and like getting fucked by him? If thats the case then I should give you 2 some advice. SILLY FAGGITS DICKS ARE FOR GIRLS.

From:CE in Cali,

I am so proud of all of the CE's who have worked so hard to bring this once distant idea of union to reality. I know you have worked and put in countless hours of personal time in order to make things better for all of us. I find it truly inspirational and encouraging. I know I can't fix the problems of the world, but that doesn't mean I can't make a difference. I commend you for having the courage to fight for what you believe!!!
At the very least, the rest of the CE's should stand up with you now.
Now lets get em!!!

people are talking like the ny people aren't getting a paycut..i thought that hadn't been decided yet. a judge will decide by july 18th. so what is gonna happen if the judge decides the paycut is justified? all you teamsters gonna sit back and take that? you will basically be in the same boat as the rest of us. our current field service org. is a sinking ship. people are leaving every day. by the end of the year about all that will be left here are new people that don't know how to fix anything. some customers are already leaving because the service is so poor..

Anonymous said...

No judge will say the paycuts are justified. Nutjob nuti got 17 million and a new jet, they spent 3 million on a new office, and 3 million on new staff for the office, at the same time profit was up. Nutjob can sell the jet and take a paycut.

You need to sue NCR for breach of contract. Nutjob must be taught a lesson.

the CE 3's need to sue for defamation of character. Ncr has supported there lifestyle for years and has made he ce's reliy on the fact of a prevailing wage they had.

They (ncr) defame the ce's finacialy by reducing there pay and also there person because Ncr as a company now looks down there nose atthem because they ask questions.
might want to ask a lawyer. i would say you could make the case though

I believe the best decisions are ones based on all available information. We will continue to press NCR for a meeting with NCR management and union representives(I asked Al Pardo this a.m. in Raynham Ma.) so that you the CE's can make the decision that is right for you.We will continue to send out information and as always if you have any questions please call me at 978-302-3690.

US manufacturing giant NCR was today accused of bringing low-paid workers from India to its Dundee factory while making dozens of local staff redundant (writes Steven Bell).
Constituency MP Jim McGovern also claimed the foreign employees were only being sought from ‘low cost’ regions and paid less than Dundee workers — a move whose legality is being looked into by the politician.
The shock revelations — denied by the company — come after NCR announced its latest local jobs cutback, with about 50 posts going at Wester Gourdie in a “streamlining” of its operations.

Americas CS Team -

By now, most of you are aware of our negotiations with the Teamsters Union Local 111, which represents approximately 185 CEs in the New York and Northern New Jersey area.

I want to provide some additional information to make sure you clearly understand the negotiation process as well as the reasons why we have taken our current position.

We remain firm in our commitment to make NCR flexible and cost-effective enough to support our business strategy and compete effectively now and into the future.

Knowing the economic challenges of the marketplace and having done extensive research to compare our skill sets and pay structure against our competitors, it is our duty to take sometimes difficult steps to protect the viability of our business for the sake of all employees.

While the rebanding of the CE III position was difficult for all involved, here are the facts:

We are paying our rebanded CEs III at the top of the compensation range for the CE II position in this industry.
The base salaries of the rebanded CE IIIs are being kept whole for 18 months through a series of quarterly payments.
We have changed the BPP incentive plan to allow for improved financial recognition for individual performers.

For these reasons, NCR remains 100% committed to our goal of achieving equal treatment of all Customer Engineers across the U.S. terms of job levels and pay scale.

The company has remained firm in its position on rebanding issue, both out of fairness to all the CEs throughout the country, as well as in defense of the long- term viability of the business.

The negotiation process, which began in mid-May, has progressed with agreement in most areas. I would describe the concessions NCR has made to date as minimal and reflective of the unique, highly urban work environment of New York City. On the big points, pension and benefits, there were no changes. Those items are now completely off the table.

NCR was fully prepared to deal with the possibility of a work stoppage. But the company, as well as the union members, realized that a strike or lockout would have been a lose-lose proposition for everyone concerned. For that reason, we agreed to enter into a binding arbitration process and present our case to a neutral labor arbitrator. The business case NCR will present to the arbitrator is sound and well-documented with facts.

I am confident that when the arbitrator’s decision is made on or before July 18, we will all move forward as a strong, competitive and unified business.

Thank you for your continued support. I will continue to update you as appropriate.

Sincerely,

Chris Cheadle

What You Need to Know about the Teamsters Negotiation..

In response to the recent union contract neg. with the Teamsters in NYC, The "CRAZY CROC" is trying to defuse all of what is about to happen around the country. There are many of the regions holding meeting with the CEs and trying to derail the movement. Please do not fall victim toe all the lies. You must understand that they know that the painted themselves into a corner and they are desparate! No matter how things turn out with the arbitrator in NYC, please keep the momentum going and get the IBEW signed in. Just because you lose one battle, it does not mean the war is over. Cheat-all is trying to make it seem that it is a done deal and the arbitrater has already sided with him. It anit over to that fat lady sings! And trust me, it is far from being over. You guys need a union. The only reason that NY did not get what they were looking for was because they didnt have the leverage need to stick it to the man. But Believe me, that will all come to an end. All region must go union and then NCR will have to deal all of you and that will not be an easy task. Go long ..Go UNION.

Anonymous said...

OK after reading Mr. Cheadle's comment and seeing the professionalism with which it is written, and then reading the rest of this blog... well at least his is PROFESSIONAL no name calling,no threats of putting out a contract etc. (Cheat-all??? c'mon grow up). If you can't write something that sounds professional without name calling, please keep it to yourself, it just makes the rest of us and all NCR CE's look bad.

I'm not saying that I believe what he said, I am merely stating the facts. Go back and read this section and see what I mean about the name calling and how childish it all looks. By calling names and purposely misspelling names you make this into a school yard argument when it should be a place for intelligent conversation and debate.

Two-Faced Cheat-le "Strikes" Again

Here is the version that NYCEs received:

Americas CS Team -

I am very pleased to report that NCR and Teamsters Union Local 111, which represents NCR Customer Engineers (CEs) in the metro New York City and northern NJ area, have reached an agreement that will totally avoid the possibility of a CE work stoppage. This means there will be no NCR CE strike in the New York City metro area.

While the new contract is not yet finalized, both NCR and the Union have agreed upon a process that will avoid any service disruption to NCR customers. This agreement means that an NCR Customer Engineer work stoppage in the NYC metro area is no longer a possibility.

Under the process agreement reached on June 30, NCR and the Union have agreed to submit their positions to a well-respected labor arbitrator from the New York metropolitan area for final resolution. These submissions will be made no later than July 4. NCR's objective remains the same, i.e., to obtain contract terms that will allow the Americas CS organization to compete successfully in a very challenging and competitive market.

The interest arbitrator will issue a final decision no later than Friday, July 18, 2008. Both NCR and the Teamsters Union have agreed to honor the decision of the interest arbitrator, which will be
contractually binding on both parties.

The Customer Engineers in the NYC metro area will continue to provide service as usual between now and July 18, and will continue doing so after July 18 under a new contract. The substitute worker team that had been assembled and was in place in New York has been dismissed and those workers are now heading home.

It's now time to move forward. Let's focus our full attention on doing what we do best - serving our customers.

Regards,

Chris Cheadle

To the CE who still has doubt about Union:
Would it be clear enough that NCR has to NEGOTIATE with Union of NJ/NY to settle the pay, but it can just cut non-Union CE's pay without asking. WHY?? NCR is dealing with near 200 CE in one voice. In the non-union area, any CE is just A CE. NCR can crash you as easy as piece of cake.
GO UNION is the way.

Anonymous said...

If you want to be the best (world class) as they used to put it then employees should be paid the best, benefits should be the best, all that is the best should come from within the company.
Don't expect superior employees and service then quote what the average for all other companies are doing. (as seems to be the standard here)
Take the ball and run with it. If we make ourselves the best (see above) the customers will come. It is about money however companies want the best and will PAY for it if you are truly the best.
How many times will we hear the song and dance about high margin customers and then actual get low end retail work. Why do you say????? Because it is only a song and dance. Send out another Cd so the CE can be the expert on the equipment.
They are creating the crap they want. Low end accounts and low end workers.
As long as the big boys get to sell off something and make the numbers look good they still get the bonus. Thats what they care about.
We are now to the point there is nothing left to sell with the exception of CE/employees.
Welcome to the big show!!!!!!!!!!
Stick around newbees it only will get better, Just trust them like all the CE3's did. Read the mans words "fairness for all CE's". You will move up and get the rug pulled out when they decide it's fair to make everyone a CE1 or whatever they call it then.

GO UNION!!!!!!!!!!

Keep your eyes open boys - NCR is up to something, don't know what it is yet, but they aren't finished trying to screw us over.... Just dont see them giving into the union this easy.

Vote for the union, vote for your lives - Do you see these fat pocketed managers struggling to feed there family? do you see them wondering how they are going to heat there homes this coming winter? - the only thing they are worried about are numbers.

This isnt some third world country and we dont deserve this treatment.

NCR has taken this far enough - Dont cave in, dont be afraid, be strong and show them what they didnt know about us-

WE ARE STRONG! WE ARE PROUD! WE WILL NOT BE TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF ANY LONGER!

I'm retired and many times in school I had heard CEs from other parts of the country talking about how they couldn't or wouldn't turn in OT because it would effect their merit rases. The union dues everyone keeps asking about is covered by 1 hour OT that NCR should have paid you. Steve Smith always returned my calls and he knew the ans. or found out what it was. He takes this responsibility to heart. The time for letting NY area union take the heat is over stand together and be counted as ONE.

After explaining what account Pro is they find me names and numbers. I call each one of them and no answer on any of them. I leave messages but no response. Now thats world class.
I guess I will just shit that part number.

This happened to me with another customer months back and 3 weeks later I got the "yaaaaaa" email about the new account.

to the person who got 3% raises two years in a row and more this year: obviously you are new to this company. most of us who have been here a while have received little or no raise over the last 3-4 years and a BIG paycut this year. consider yourself lucky. one day you may be in our position. I had excellent raises over many years until about 7 years ago when this company started going to shit. i hear some of the upper management has been asking others in the company why ce's are leaving in droves. are they really that ignorant? why not just ask us. i would be more than willing to tell them why..

after all these captive meetings where the union was not invited in there might be some questions about the half truths and out right lies about the union and membership

Anonymous said...

Who ever goes to the next meeting, Ask
"Can you guarantee that there will be no reduction of our pay in the next 3 years?”
Can you guarantee us that there will be no befits reductions?
Can you guarantee us of what our pay raises will be?”
A union contract can. Isn’t that alone worth the union dues for peace of mind for the length of the contract?

When will it be our turn, no cards or info sent here.

In my last 8 years of employment with NCR, I didn't get a raise. Then my job was outsourced. Think about where your going being employed by NCR. When you answer, remember, loyalty to NCR does not earn you a reward. With the purposed target of NCR stocks speculated at being $30/share by the 4th quarter, you can bet the CE's are just an expense. Their cutting in Waterloo again. Only realestate left to sell is Head Quarters. Without a union your have no protection. Tech's in NCR will be treated as a lower level life form until they have a voice.

We are all responsible to get our own info. Call the numbers listed in this blog. They will get you the info you need. I got mine.
Also make sure your coworkers get info and cards.

go Union

All in one day I got a nice big envelope from the IBEW and one from NCR. I've weighed the options and if the higher ups are putting all this effort out then they have something to hide.

Vote YES 125 zone..

the unionnnnnn doesn't guarantee that your pay will not get cut. the unionnnnnn doesn't guarantee that you won't lose your job. the unionnnnnn can only negotiate for you and then show you the contract. if the contract says you will take a pay cut next year then you will take a pay cut next year. a much smarter non-union worker can negotiate his own pay raise and not have to depend on any one else to try for him. there are no guarantees of good times ahead with the unionnnnnn.

To the above non-CE/manager,
I think you know for sure you are just lying here. What you meant smart CE can negotiate his salary? You must be joking here. IS THERE ANY ONCE CE3 WHO GOT 20-25% PAY CUT ABLE TO NEOTIIIIIALTE WITH NCR AND THEN GET HIS SALARY BACK????
The way that NCR treats non-UNION CE is simple "take it or leave.". But when NCR is dealing with UNION, NCR has to NEGOTIATE. NCR sent 400 guys to NJ/NY to prepare possible strike while negotiating with UNION. Both side are back off and agree go to arbitration NOW. DID ANY INDIVIDUAL NON UNION CE CAN GET AN ARBITRATION OF HIS PAY CUT????????
You think every CE is as stupid as you are.
You said "a much smarter non-union worker can negotiate his own pay raise and not have to depend on any one else to try for him " Swear on your heart-if you have one- that you realy believe so?? Give me a break.
I think the problem we have now in NCR is there are too many stupid managers like you.

You said
"unionnnnnn doesn't guarantee that your pay will not get cut"

Why is NCR going to the table now in Ny? Why did Ncr cut all the other CE3 wages in the US but not NY. Union! Ncr sees that this union is very strong and NY is to important to mess around with. You say it's not a guarantee, but based on what is happening now in NY I say the union stopped NCR from raping another group of CE's.
Ps.. You are a major dick head. If your not for the union, then leave. You are not wanted here. Why do you keep coming back if you not for a voice on how things are run? Just keep burring your head in your boss's crouch and pretend it all well.

It's not just about wages here. It's about making a once proud company strong again with employees and managers who are willing to go the extra mile for the "team". Cutting down long term employees over and over again is not the way to fix our many problems. Are you out of touch? Yes, I say you are. You maybe right that union will not fix all the problems NCR has(there are to many of them) but its a start.
Are you a team player? I would guess not by your posts here. I would guess you are one of those who worries only of himself at the expense of your fellow workers. I would hate to have you as a co-worker and I am sure most of us would feel the same. You are one not to be trusted.
If you really feel so strongly against the union, why are you posting anonymous? I say post your real name next time so we can visit you.

Tell then Do us all a favor. Go to hell and take your bud nuti with ya.
Ps... look up and say hi to your boss for me.

If the Union is so great, where's all the info that tells the good things the union does scholarships for kids, life insurance deals, discounts retailers give if I'm a member.Death benefits for my spouse and kids when I pass. You will see none of the this stuff from the union because they don't offer any of it. All they do is collect dues and line their pockets with our cash. If the union puts your dues to good use Let's here what they do with the money. Vote against the union because they have a hidden agenda. They make a lot of promises but offer no guarantees. They do offer one guarantee they will take your money and you will be guaranteed nothing in return except lip service about how the company is screwing you. If a union is so great lets ask the autoworkers of America how they like double digit unemployment. The union did a great job protecting them. HAHAHAHAHA

Mr Hidden Agenda....
Look around knucklehead. I think the company has the hidden agenda. They have all kinds of secret things in the works that we will never know about until it is on the street.
You think that management didn't know about the cuts and the workforce shift to other areas. I am pretty sure they do and did know many things that you/we won't know till we are in the crapper and headed there.
Is the Union gonna fix all? Probably not. May it be a little better than what we have? I think so. Ask NYC. They have a union and seem to have more than we non union have now.
If we were union the 1% or so we would pay in dues would have been more beneficial to us than the 10 to 25% pay cuts a lot of us just took. You don't need to be a math major to figure that out.

BUT THEN AGAIN MAYBE "YOU" DO!!!!!!!!!

GO UNION!!

IBEW LOCAL 2222 GIVES OUT Massachusetts AFL-CIO Program Awards $1 Million in Scholarships

by James Parks, May 10, 2008

More than 200 high school seniors received scholarships from the Massachusetts AFL-CIO.

Higher education is no longer a far off dream parents once had for their children but a necessity in today’s economy—and an expensive necessity at that. Recent studies show workers with a college degree earn 45 percent more than those with a high school diploma. Yet college tuition costs are at an all-time high, making it harder for working families to afford it.

The union movement has historically been a strong supporter of educating workers to create a better life for themselves, their families and communities. Many unions, state federations and central local bodies and labor groups sponsor scholarship programs, including Union Privilege. Click here to learn more about Union Privilege’s scholarship program.

The union movement also created the National Labor College, the nation’s only accredited institution of higher learning dedicated to educating union members.

One of the biggest union scholarship programs just celebrated two major milestones. For 50 years, the Massachusetts AFL-CIO has supported working people’s efforts to attain a decent quality of life by offering a scholarship program for graduating high school seniors to help them afford the higher education that will allow them to be successful. In honor of the program’s golden anniversary, the state federation, affiliated unions, central labor councils and other union groups awarded 564 scholarships totaling a whopping $1 million at its annual banquet last weekend. (See video.)

In the past nine years, the program has awarded scholarships worth $7.3 million to help thousands of students attend college. Says state federation President Robert Haynes:

The Massachusetts AFL-CIO believes that everyone should be able to further their education regardless of finances. We are proud to play a role in enabling our young people to pursue higher education so that they can attain for themselves and their families the same quality of life that my generation and prior generations enjoyed.

We don’t often hear about the great things organized labor does in our communities. The Scholarship Program has been building for a half-century, helping countless young people not only learn about the labor movement but access the higher education that allows them to attain the good jobs with good wages and working conditions that have been the very hallmark of our great labor movement.

To qualify for the scholarships, more than 1,200 students in eight states took a challenging exam administered at their schools. In order to prepare for the exam, students must read a study guide and learn about the union movement, its contributions to American history and its impact on the American economy, society and quality of life.

Last year, the AFL-CIO Executive Council approved a statement calling for expanded access to higher education. The council noted that on average, college graduates leave with a diploma and debts ranging from $15,000 to $24,000 as college costs have soared and local and state aid to college and universities has been eroded by inflation. The Executive Council says the AFL-CIO and its unions will lead a national effort to ensure students a diverse range of affordable, excellent higher education opportunities for all.

Our manager in Philly left shortly after we joined the Teamsters. He admitted to me that NCR had lied to us in meetings by ommission and outright deceit. They played the nice guy game as they flat out tried to deceive us. I don't know how they could sleep at night after they lied and cheated us, but they did not seem to have a problem with it. Now if NCR wins the arbitration what happens. We will have many unhappy workers in NY and elsewhere. That will not solve any problems, only make things worse. If the Union wins and things stay the same or with a little improvement, then the rest of the company will be saying "Look how they made out. we really need a Union now. I can only see dissatisfaction wherever this leads to. NCR will have to do a lot of fence repairs either way. My fear is that NCR really only cares about money for themselves and paying us the smallest amount possible. It is sad, but I do not see any improvement coming until an upper management change occurs. Workers will have no incentive to do a good job, and that is not a good thing. I am afraid there will be no winners in this. Sad Sad Sad.

lets stand up for our future here
we need to tell NCR in one voice what we want

I want some better benies
instead of $250/ payperiod i would like aroung $100/payperiod for the same coverage
maybe a 3-5% raise would be good
we need to start thinking of what we all want out of this at this point start asking around of what others want and post them here

But remember 1 thing
Management my be looking here
they may give us all this to prevent union for this year
but watch out next year they will shove it in and break it off next year. with not so much as a hand job to sooth our pain

we need this union
we need it to protect ourselves
protect our families
protect our way of life

thanks for your time

To the guy above who posted on July 8, 2008 1:47 PM, I'm out for BLOOD, Screw NCR, they cut my pay and screwed me after over 30 years of hard work. I also have a claim filed with the EEOC as I'm way over 40 and so is every other former CE-3 I know. You all should file an AGE DISCRIMINATION CLAIM with the EEOC. Get what you deserve.

Anonymous said...

3 CE's in my group including myself are in our mid 30's, so it's not only the senior guys who were affected

Anonymous said...

I have never seen 3 CE3s in one group in their 30's. What territory are you in? I never even met a CE3 in his or her 30's.

Keeps posting your lawsuit get as many guys as you can to sue the Nut Job Homo.

File with the EEOC for age discrimination anyway most of us CE3s are well over 40. The government will see this is definitely age discrimination. Between pay cuts and freezing our pensions.

I heard that no matter wait this judge says in NYC.. NCR will honor it for the length of the contract, I think its 3 years and then they will implement their plans for outsourcing. You better get your union online!

GUESS WHAT GUYS,

OUR FROZEN PENSION IS BASED ON OUR LAST 5 YEARS OF WORK. WE HAVE TO GET THIS UNION IN OR QUIT.

IF CUTTING OUR PAY TO LOWER OUR PENSION PAY OUT IS NOT AGE DISCRIMINATION I DON'T KNOW WHAT IS.

I'LL BE FILING AN AGE DISCRIMINATION LAW SUIT WITH THE EEOC I SUGGEST EVERY X-CE3 IN THE COUNTRY DO THE SAME.

The managers are afraid of something for sure.

My TM will probably be run out of the business if we go union so maybe he should be nervous.

I'm voting yes....not just cause my TM is a bone head, but because I dont think things are fair.

Good luck all!!!!!

One of the CE's in our zone recently had a C.E. from Smartech ride along with him to see what our job is like. This Smartech employee was from Brooklyn so look out NYC! Go to http://www.smartech-csi.com/ to read more about Smartech.

to the person above talking about our pension--it isn't based on the last 5 years of working. at least mine isn't. i don't know who told you that. if you look on fidelity it will tell you what your frozen pension is if you work until you are at least 55 and start drawing it at 62. what sucks is that i have to work with this company until i am 55 to even get my "frozen pension" benefit. if i retire a month before i turn 55 i take another 15% cut in my pension unless i start drawing it at 65. if i was 55 now i would be outta here!!

NYC DOES NOT HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT BEING OUTSOURCED WE HAVE A UNION CONTRACT. BUT EVERYBODY ELSE WHO'S NOT IN A UNION BETTER GET IN ONE NOW.

They just promoted a CE with 8 years at NCR to a Field Operations Directer in Atlanta.

This guy would not even be qualified to have been a CE3. Either he is one of Nutty's boyfriends or they are getting ready to outsource us so they don't care.

I hate to say this, but NCR seems to be one step ahead of everything. Don't get me wrong, I support the IBEW. With this Smart Tec ride along doesn't sound good. They possible may be one of the choosen service companys to outsource our jobs to. I fear for our future. A union might hold off the things for 2 or 3 years. NCR is really working hard to get their shares to be $30 by the 4th quarter, and they will do anything that is cost saving to achieve their goal. Remember, we all work for the shareholders, and Nuti made a comittment that gives him another huge bonus if he makes his target that he promised the board.I have a feeling after Nuti achieves this goal, after pillaging and raping the workers, he will move onto another corporation and do the same thing.

Listen Up good people.. Things are moving along just as planed for NCR...This company will not look the same in 3 years as it does today..Unless we get this union signed in!!! Shit is starting to flow downhill and piling up at our front door! It will soon ring your door bell. And when it does, you are done. the only answer here is to BRING THIS UNION ONLINE SOON!

New Product Development Opportunity
(9-JUL) Are you interested in working on designing a radically new ATM solution? Does working in another country on a short term assignment appeal to you? Human Resources is recruiting a cross-functional team to develop an exciting new ATM solution.

I FOUND THIS ON THE NCR EMPLOYEE PORTAL.. LOOKS LIKE NCR IS TRYING TO COVER ITS TRACKS ON THE ISSUE OF LAYING OFF IN DUNDEE AND BRINGING IN IDIAN CITIZENs TO DUNDEE TO DESIGN AND BUID ATMs. THEY NOW ARE MAKING PUBLIC TO THE REST OF THE NCR WORLD THAT THERE IS AN OPPORTUNITY IN INDIA. THEY JUST WANT TO BE ABLE TO HAVE AN ANSWER FOR THE COURTS IN SCOTLAND WHEN THE UNIONs BRINGS THEM UP ON CHARGES! SOMETHING TO THE EFFECT OF..."SEE YOUR HONOR"... WE MADE A PUBLIC PLEA TO THE MASSES AND HAD NO TAKERS SO WE HAD NO CHOICE BUT TO BRING THE INDIANs TO DUNDEE."

THIS IS LIKE LOCKING THE DOOR TO THE BARN AFTER THE HORSE RUNS AWAY!!!

THIS IS SO NCR!!!

to the ce who had a smarttec employee riding along with him--why did thjat happen? i would have refused as we are supposed to only have ncr employees in our vans. wasn't that said to us many times because of insurance reasons? use their own rules against them!

Smartech is out of Austin Texas. Don't we know another company out of Austin Texas? Could it be FLT or FLS. Very interesting don't you think?

The writing is on the wall people. Lift your nose from the grindstone for a few and read it. NCR is moving to low end\ low paid workers to maintain and increase the bottom line. The majority of companies in the world are doing the same thing.
If you want to better yourself you better get a management position and learn to be a butt sucker. The only money around here is for management. Worker bees can and will be replaced.
I don't think it's right but it's the reality of the situation.
If we can't organize and get the masses onboard we are going to fall to the wayside.
What can we do to get people onboard?
I haven't a clue. I tried and tried to reason with the idiots in my area. Seems only about half give a crap the other half are just happy to have a van to drive I guess. The battle is with getting the new people onboard. I am at a loss with that.

I still say Go Union. However I am looking elsewhere in the event the crap gets deeper.
