Does anybody know what's up with the Frontpage site. Every time I try to log in it tells me my user name and password is wrong. Is it being maintained anymore. I do not see why the forum can not be viewed without logging in. If they are having problems set it up so you have to sign on to post a message.

Oh by the way GO UNION !!!!!

They will be getting my vote again. Come on NEW guys. Did you like the big pay raise you received this year?? What about your bonus?? benefits?? Not even recognition of any type for busting your tail all year for nothing! That's right FOR NOTHING. It did not matter what you did last year we basically all got the same thing NOTHING.
All we get are e-mails from Nutti telling us about all the companies he is acquiring. Problem is he is purchasing them with the money he stole (And continues to steal) from the hard working employees to earn more money for himself. Certainly not you and I.
What about some of these new high paying positions he is creating for his buddies. What the hell does the President of Continuing Excellence do?? What a joke.
It was nice of him to not take a bonus this year. He only accepted a 3 million dollar retention stipend (It doesn't matter what you call it it is still a bonus). He is laughing at the ignorance of his workers because he thinks they do not see the wool being pulled over their eyes. Is he correct or do the employees understand more than he thinks. I believe this vote will give him his answer. I for one am sick of being laughed at. What about you?

I have sent in the card and you can bet your sweet ass the union will be voted in!!! I was one on the stupid one last time. But not this time. Come on and make it happen!!!

I thought the movement was over after the no sayers out there voted it down. I hope you can get it in this time and enough of the big cities follow suit maybe we can get rid of this abusive treatment and start getting whats rightfully ours. I agree with the above poster that Nuti is creating jobs for his cronies. If you have been here awhile, go on quicklook and search for some of the seasoned managers you know from before. They are mostly gone and being replaced by senior replacements from other companies. Now, I agree, alot of them had it coming for the practices they have condoned, but not all of them. And what about some senior NCR people getting promoted instead of looking outside of the company? Anyway, I hope that there will be enough union shops out there in non right to work states to make the company stand up and take notice of this unfair treatment of people, and get some actions instead of emails and speaches that promise things that never happen. I a long time NCR person and I am tied of seeing my future being taken from me and not having a say in it.

Well, we all thought things would change, but they didn't. I have never wanted a union, but I'm doing nothing but standing still for 5 yrs.! No raise, respect for 30yrs service.............what do I have to lose now? Guess it is time for a change. Getting rid of the GPS did nothing but increase suspicion from management with the phone calls to see if you are onsite, and where you are. This is no way to run a business anymore. I will have to try something different cuz all the smoozing for the week has gone!!!!!!!

Anonymous said...

Whats wrong, why aren't the posts showing up?

Anonymous said...

I guess there must a limit on length here. I agree on the lack of respect and I'm sure that telling people that its going to get better and doing nothing is not going to fix that. The leadership of this company leaves a lot to be desired at all levels.

Union Facts
________________________________________
How well has the IBEW served its members?
At NCR, one of the ways we measure success is by how satisfied customers are with our performance. What if we apply that same measure to the IBEW? Just how satisfied are IBEW union members?
One indication of member satisfaction might be the number of unfair labor practice charges filed against the IBEW. Under the National Labor Relations Act, individuals can file unfair labor practice charges against a union claiming that the union violated that law.
You might be interested to know that since the year 2000, over 2,300 unfair labor practice charges have been filed against the IBEW, most of them by unhappy IBEW members. Many of those charges are by members who are dissatisfied with how the IBEW has represented them. Or members who have violated some part of the IBEW Constitution and have been subjected to fines (some in the thousands of dollars!) Or members who were fired from their jobs, and the union left them high and dry when help was requested.

While there is no basis to dispute NCR’s claim, let’s look at this a little closer:
If there were 2300 complaints in a 10 year period of time, that would be an average of 230 complaints a year.
So how did the IBEW do? (Feel free to check my math…)
700,000 members divided by 230 complaints a year =
That means the percentage of unhappy members was ….0.032% Less than one percent!!
More than 99% of members remained happy and satisfied as members of the IBEW.
The IBEW has a satisfaction rate of over 99%!
Thank you NCR for pointing out this fact.

Filing an unfair labor practice charge takes a lot of time and effort. It’s a legal claim. So things must’ve been pretty bad for these IBEW members for them to take the drastic step of going to the Labor Board and filing a charge.
Now, you may think – that would never happen to me if I joined a union. And you may be right. But ask yourself — How many of those members who filed these charges do you think once thought the same thing?

Anonymous said...

Great point above.
Apples to Apples.

What is the satisfaction rate of NCR CE's with NCR?

Are employees happy and satisfied with NCR? That is the question

Anonymous said...

NCR mangers push the good CEs to do more and more until they finally give up and leave, leaving a few guys waiting til retirement and a bunch of new guys with little training and 20 calls in thier ques. That doesn't add up to a satified group.

I think the managers forget that slavery was outlawed years ago. Where do they find these people that like to abuse people anyway?

Its amazing that the workers in China are complaining about the same things we at NCR are. Has Nuti and his pals from outside trying to turn the american workers into people like the china workers?? I know we are working longer, harder and getting less and less for our labors, while management reaps the benefits. I think if my history is right, thats what started the union movement in the 40s..The CEOs of these companies don't care about us at all, and I don't think any manger really cares about you, just what you will do to advance them in the world.

Bonuses, Stock Option Awards, Retention Awards. Does anyone really care what its called?
If you aren’t getting one: why is everyone else??
Only 4 months ago:

Your SVP World Wide Sales: Received Over a million
($1,036,811 to be exact) in February 2010. If NCR couldn’t afford raises, maybe this is why.

6 members of the Board of Directors $77,749 each. That has a worth of over a half million dollars. This was 2 months ago.

It’s unlikely any CE’s who’ve had to deal with the HR dept of NCR, would think the human resources dept HR SVP deserved a bonus.
But on February 8, 2010 (Andrea Ledford (HR senior vice president)) $447,906.
(Unless of course, they are judged on the performance HR has given at these anti-union meetings). What a shame.
If you have tried to contact HR and claim incorrectly reported hours, missing holiday pay, sick time, overtime, or anything else you know exactly what I am speaking of.
Good luck ever seeing it.

NCR: I’m not even a CE anymore and this makes me SO ANGRY.
I WILL NOT STAND BY AND WATCH WHILE THE CE’s (you know, the ones who make all this possible for you to take) once again receive nothing.

Bill Nuti: I'm beginning to see why you need securiy guards to protect you and NCR has to pick up the tab. Just $66,000 a year. Pocket change to you.

Your treatment of the people of NCR and the CE's truly makes me sick. But I haven't given up fighting for them yet.

Another thing about HR is that they will always side with management, its kind of like the fox in charge of the hen house thing. The HR consultant is afraid to go against the mangers because they are the one that pay the salary in a round about way. And the managers are all bunch of no time with the company butt kissers that got the job via the good old boy system that NCR has had in place for a long time. This company is dying a slow painful death with the management in place and they don't have a clue what to do. I only wish that the settlement that Michelle got would have been ten times what it was, because all the abuse that was supposed to be covered by that hasn't changed a bit.

After reading the whole story, it says the guy that stole the money was driving a white GMC van, all our big vans are Fords as far as I know, and the mini vans are all Dodges, I also looked up this guys name in quicklook and theres no listing for Him at NCR. Looks like another false report, might be a cash provider or a Diebold guy.

It will be interesting to see this unfold. Hopefully they will get it and start the snowball rolling. Coming to a territory near all of us.

Anonymous said...

I agree, something needs to happen, these managers are overstepping a lot of bounds with all the crap they are pulling, and they act as if there are no rules at all. I guess the union contract will outline how they can schedule people and all that, my manager thinks nothing of scheduleing people to work all day, then return that night to do an all night install, then say how nice he is because the guy gets off the day after working all night. I am waiting until someone falls asleep at the wheel around here and gets hurt or even killed, but I sure don't want it to be me.

face it, CE's are NOT CEO's
I'm not a Nuti fan and i'm not a union fan either. The IBEW cant promise anything.
Why would you PAY to have a job when you have no guarantee on return? 1% base pay, monthly per capita costs, and an impossible battle to get them to leave if they suck! (which they do)
Nuti having a contract is not a good comparison at all.

I would have voted no a hundred times if i could.

what kind of fools are you people??ncr give the union workers a higher quality of life without a contract they treat the rest of us like dirt!!!

I am only PRO-CE! I'm not for or against the union or Nuti.

I believe there's only one kind of CE who's not going to take this opportunity for something better. They are not idiots, or any of the unnecessary names being used on here. They are just ignorant of the truth.

The only CE who would vote No,is a CE who has been taken in by NCR's claims to mislead them.

So: If you are a CE who was around during the last election, it falls to you to find the courage to be a mentor to your coworkers. You can't hold the youngest guys responsible without having taught them what has really happened.

If you want respect and some seniority please start acting as if you deserve it then!

This election will be won or lost by your efforts to reach your new guys or your lack of.

Don't just pass the blame to those new people, who just don't know any better.

Are you kidding me! The company has promised us the world and the only thing the company has given me is more responsibility and more work. The give me an antiquated dispatch system and a broken down blackberry. the have empowered us to run our own territories but all that does is keep me on the cellphone half of the day trying to beg someone to take a call that had been dumped on me. We have an "out of control tower" that does not want to help! this company want us to wear 3 hats (TM, Dispatcher, and CE. Lets not for get that we are our own parts people, shippers and warehouser for all the shitty parts that they sent us) and pay us out shit wages. And you think that we dont need a union. YOU ARE OUT OF YOUR FRIGEN MIND!!! Give me the union!!!

Just ask NY/NJ and Canada!!!!

You deserve everything that NCR has to give. When was you last decent raise. I bet not the last 5 years. As the union guys if they got a raise. My buddy in Jersey was making $33 bucks an hour! After he was rebanded, he was knocked down to 25 bucks an hour. I bet that its alot more than you are making! And he is getting another raise July 1st. THATS MORE THAN THE REST OF US COULD SAY.

You had nothing to loose. You would not have paid 1 due unless you had a signed contract. And you decide the final contract. I can not believe that you did not even give it a try. I truly hope the union gets voted in and you are forced to join. I bet that you will say thank you afterwards. They always do!

Out of a job in south carolina said...

With all things being said, good and bad about the union, stop and think for a minute. We all work for this company, some are new and some have worked here for many years, like myself and my husband. The company has laid both of us off after many years of loyal service. You see the company treats the employees well when they want something or when they are somewhat threatened by someone or something that is out of their control. And that is a normal response. But stop and think about it. How many times in the last 10 years did anyone get a raise or a decent bonus? Not many if any! Ask Bill Nuti and his cronies, I will bet you they all take the fifth, including Al Pardo. Al is good for that. Al will speak out of both sides of his mouth. I have seen it 1st hand. You see, I have worked hand in hand with Al for many years. He is a nice guys. He tells you that he has been there done that as a CE. But the bottom line is that he is being fed what to say and what to do by the Union Busters and the lawyer for the company. You see if Al was still a CE, he would be out of a job today because he was at top pay as a CE. He was one of the lucky one that has climbed the ladder out of the proverbial NCR gutter. There are not many too many jobs for the rest of us to move into so we were stuck where we are. So rather than the company treating us with some decency, they treat us like crap. They will feed you a bunch of lies, Tell you things that you want to hear but will never come through. How many of you want to live though that again? You guys have the perfect opportunity to right the ship by voting in the union. I know some of you against it but like I said earlier, STOP AND THINK! How many times were you lied to so you would not vote for a union and haw many times did NCR keep its promise. Don't vote yes just because the union says look at how much money NYC much or because Canada still has CE3s. Vote yes because you have been treated poorly or worse, you might kicked to the curb like me and my husband have. I wish that I still was employed by NCR and given the chance to vote in the union and guess how I would vote.

Anonymous said...

What a true letter, the company treats its older people like used baggage, with little or no use to them anymore. I am having to apply and interview for a job I have been doing for years with the chance that I might not get to keep my job and they will give to someone else more "connected" than I am. Or, maybe someone with less vacation and pay maybe?? When I was "put"in the job, there was no interviews or appying, I was told I was going there and that was that.I was selected for my qualifications, something that went away a long time ago. Now we are told that there may be more travel than we want, so we have to go through all this stuff. How about just asking if we want to continue or not and save a lot of time?? I am guessing that I will join the ranks of lots of older guys on the unemployment line after lots of years of loyal service to a company I once thought was the best. Now all this country is about is that rich people that have friends in high places get ahead and they step over all of us that got them there on the way. Don't trust anything these managers say, they will say whatever they are told to say to save thier own pathetic jobs because they know for sure they can't replace thier income by going on the job market. And if I am forced to leave, it will be because we, as CEs have absolutely no protection from anything this company wants to do. A union may not be perfect, but I believe it would put a stop to this downright trampleing of any rights we might have thought we had.

now i am a little confussed said...

Huge win for NCR management!

I'm sorry to say that this was not only a huge mistake in judgement but was also a slap in the face to every person who worked so hard on behalf of the CE's in 125. Organizers like Steve and DJ who wanted nothing but to help them improve their working conditions at NCR.

So to Steve and DJ: I just wanted to thank you for all your effort and the dedication you've shown to help the CE's of NCR.

After all is said and done, we know that: What was lost here was not just an election, but a huge opportunity the CE's of 125 had to secure some real change and to finally have a voice.

The CE's of 125 just missed this rare and not easily attainable opportunity: so therefore they have just lost the most of all.

Respectfully,
Michelle

I was hoping the union would be voted in also, but as usual, NCR puts a bunch of managers promising the world will change while they take everything away to line thier pockets and hire more of thier buddies into high paying positions. Well, a vote down in the big cities is a vote against the whole country, because most of us live in smaller areas and we need the big areas to have any kind of leverage at all. But, once again, we will struggle with manangement that thinks they own us instead of just pay us for our work. Which means less work since we are getting less pay. Everyone needs to slow down and do less. just think, if everyone worked 1 less call a day, that would be about 2800 calls a day that did not get done, that would add up to managers being buried with LOCA. Do it and see what happens, quit killing yourself for these guys, its not going to get you anything but grief in the long run, because your manager will just give you more to do while your co-workers sit around and watch you work for nothing.

You see guys, this is not what a union is all about. Screwing the company is not the message that the union should send. Its about working together th make the job a better place and that translates to better moral and the promotes better work habits. NCR see's it differently. They see the union as a thorn in their side. They think labor should work for free!

I'm not in a region that voted, but I would like to understand why someone would vote against the union. I've been at NCR 25 years, and after all the lies, broken promises, and rebanding I would love to get the chance to vote for the union. I really want to understand how a CE could be against it. I'm honest when i say I don't understand how you could vote against the union. Please explain your No vote.

Anonymous said...

My no vote was a hard one. I weighed both sides....
The IBEW local 2222 lied to me.... there is no other way to explain it. I had a visit from a IBEW rep in my home. I was told "I will not be be able to vote if I dont sign the card" i asked, "what if there is still a majority that signs the card?", the rep said, "it does not matter, you will be unable to vote and removed from the mailing list as an eligible voter and I would not be getting a ballot" That rep would not leave my home and became aggressive (like a pushy salesman)
So I signed that card....and voted no
I dont agree with the "seniority" rule. That kinda sucks in this industry.
Also, you CANT try it and ask them to leave if you dont like it. They will tell you that its easy but its not....i've seen it where a company tried to get rid of a union. The union people made it VERY hard, arranged for people to get "removed", and made threats. It took over 3 years to get them to go.
They pay the bills on other incomes and I feel that if they were honest, I would have voted yes because NCR sucks too. In this case, I had a chance to vote based on what happened to me, and I was lied to. Why would I pay them for soething that they CAN NOT promise? NO ONE can promise better pay or raises. NO ONE can promise better working conditions.

Anonymous said...

If your story is true, and you were lied to then name the representative who came to your door.

Anonymous said...

This is an anonymous message board and I'd never mention anyone by name.
I honestly dont care who believes me. I was an "on the fence" CE about this election and wanted to gather as much information as I could.
That story is 100% true....word for word.

puzzled ce said...

And NCR has never lied?

Anonymous said...

Well sure they did but I didn't want to invite another liar organization into my workplace. IBEW AND NCR will continue to lie!

Anonymous said...

Good By Losers! said...

These young morons don't have a clue, that's why I left back in February. Good companies take care of their employee's to keep unions out, while NCR makes promise's and lies to folks. I think NCR had it all planned, back in September of 2000 they had the "early out". In Albany we went from 15 Field guys down to 5 overnight. The following year I worked over 700 hours of overtime! The money was nice, I made almost 80K, but I had no life. Then 7 years later they cut my pay and over 500 others nationwide to 45K. I had been making 55K a year. They knew they could lie to you gullible folks and keep the union from getting in. Oh' well, last year I made over 73K with 500 hours OT and now have over 400K in my 401K! I have a pension too wich will provide me $1800.00 a month once I'm 65. And I'm done with NCR and making 50K a year on my new job without all the bullshit! Good luck you bunch of losers, you piss me off!!

Pros

NCR gives Customer Engineers (weird name for Hardware Repair Technicians) the ability to take home a car, gas is paid for, 401k and other benefits of a large organization. This is a job to learn as much as you can, get your college degree and get out. If you have a college degree, its great to get experience in the IT field if you don't have it. If you are single with a lot of free time, this is a great job for you.
Cons

If you have IT experience, stay away from working at NCR. You are already overqualified and your skills will be undervalued. If you have a family, or enjoy your social life and freetime, this is not the job for you. Expect to have required overtime some months and almost no overtime other months. There is no opportunity for advancement with NCR unless you want to move to Georgia and you'll be lucky to get a pay raise each year unless you yell at someone in HR. The company advertises the CE II job as if it would be a career, but it is far from being a career. Employee morale is low. The typical worker is required to fix equipment they are not trained for and the company is charging through the roof for poor service. Management uses the "CE Handbook" to slap you with it and keep you in check even though it hasn't been updated since 2007. Expect ethical dillemas. In training, they will teach you to follow the rules. In practice, management expects you to break the rules to make the numbers look good. Senior management is even more contradictory then lower management. They made the decision to initiate a hiring and pay freeze, but decided to send out multiple different emails several months later announcing they have started a new division and have hired multiple senior level managers. NCR treats their CE's like pawns and forgets they are human beings. Robots are treated better. The performance numbers are skewed. The numbers are treated like a manufacturing plant instead of like a service industry.
Advice to Senior Management

QUIT PRESSURING YOUR LOWER MANAGEMENT FOR NUMBERS. It will only cause them to make poor decisions to save their job. If you hold the gun to their head long enough, they will eventually not care if you pull the trigger. Field Service Managers make poor and unethical decisions because they are being overly pressured from upper management to meet specific numbers to save their jobs. CEs poor attitudes about management reflect the constant pressure that they are under to make the required numbers to save their jobs. The poor CE attitude reflects a corporate culture of low morale. Customers see this poor attitude and poor quality of work, as it has a trickle down effect. The customer isn't happy because the employee isn't happy. Learn what makes your CE's happy, make them happy, and you will have happy customers.

Quit sending out emails to CE's announcing your new hires to senior level management. This is _NOT_ the way to effectively communicate to your organization. These broadcast messages simply give the impression that you do not care about your employees and are clueless to their emotions. As a CE, I only want to know about how you are going to make _MY_ life better. I don't want to know how you are giving someone a huge pay raise or giving them a $100K+ job and bonuses when you have frozen my pay for two years.

Update the CE Handbook because it was last edited in 2007 and it completely out of date and full of contradictions.

Hopefully someone will see a commonality in all of these CE complaints - low morale. If NCR wants to stay in the service industry, they better learn to service their employees. Make your employees happy and your customer will be happy because they receive good service from a happy employee.

It wouldn't suprise me to see them add more managers, thats what they have been doing for years. And they may even put the CE3 position back in, but they aren't going to reinstate all the people that were rebanded. I have been here for along time and the management at this company has really never done right by the people since the 90s and Nuti isn't going to give up His lavish lifestyle that He has accomplished on the backs of the employees here. Hes going to keep hiring people that Hes known in the past to manage the little people into the ground.

Its nice to be a CEO, Hurd, the one who started the downhill slide at NCR gets $12M to leave after dragging HP through a sexual harrassment scandel. I say good riddance and I hope he falls on his face and has to go back to being a regular guy and they cut his pay and everything he worked for all his life. But I know it won't happen, in a couple of monthes, it'll all be a memory and he'll be the head of some other company somewhere. Thats the world we live in now. But, of course the reason he gets this treatment is because he had a CONTRACT, the same thing that you guys voted against, so we the little people have no security whatsoever against people like Hurd and Nuti, but thet know exactly what they will get, even if they break the rules of the company, now does that seem fair??

without a union you have no future

Anonymous said...

There has been no future with NCR since the ATT debacle in the 90s. Ever since then its been CEOs that are trying to get on the the next level by cutting enough to get rich and making the company weaker and weaker. And, of course taking from the workers to make room for more executives than a company this size ever needs. Ever since I got screwed out of 15% of my pay, plus frozen pentions and 401k matches being taken away, I'm sorry, but I have little incentive to make millionaire Nuti and company look good anymore. And new people have even less of a reason to excel, there hasn't been a raise in years and the managers have no idea how to reward top performers, just keep piling on. But the union movement is dead because the guys in the big areas believe these manager when they say things will get better. Can anyone say Obama here??

Hi CE's, It's Michelle. I got a call the other day from a guy who works in California wondering if it was time for the IBEW to come back around and try to organize the CE's in his area. He said things haven't been any better since the last vote when it was very close to passing. He said none of the promises that were made had been kept and in fact things seemed to be getting worse.

I had to explain to him (once again) that the IBEW was not trying to organize them. They were only around to try and help the workers who asked for help to organize themselves.

Unfortunately, and despite doing everything we could to show you why a union would benefit you, most CE's chose to believe the management of NCR would make good. I'm sorry to hear that they have not, but I can't say I'm the least bit surprised.

The IBEW gave up on NCR, and so should the CE's. It's time to move on, NCR is a lost cause, it will die a slow miserable death.

How many times does everyone expect the union to waste time on this company, when after all the efforts, the union busters go in and make a bunch of empty promises and get the vote not to unionize. Then of course they go back to cutting pay, benefits, retirement, 401k, no raises, no bonuses, etc. etc. etc. so they can get enough together to give Nuti a "retention award" of several million or buy him a new plane. How far would 3 million go towards at least showing some good will towards the 14.00 an hour people that are getting foreclosed on and can hardly feed thier families, while Nuti and all the other higher ups around here live the high life and laugh because the economy sucks and they know we have no where to go right now. Someday, I hope I live to see it, things will go the other way and NCR won't be able to find anyone to work here unless they offer really high salaries because of the damage this CEO has done to the reputation of this company. Lets face it, theres always someone out there willing to go to the highest bidder regardless of the circumstances. The bullying that has been prevalent throughout the management ranks is already costing the company, when the managers want something extra, most people are turning thier backs and saying no. So the customers suffer and eventually they go away. Anyway, you can thank the no voters out there for not having any protection from this treatment, and I expect it will continue, all the managers do is give empty promises and not follow through. We need a nationwide contract, just like executives have or we can expect more of the same Wal-Mart style management techniques, because Wal-Mart runs this company more that anyone wants to believe. And when we are driven out of business by them, Nuti and company will still be multi millionaires and what will you have??

The above poster makes a great point, NCR has the Wal-Mart syndrome. I'm honestly surprised that Wal-Mart doesn't have everyone in Bentonville at the office there do the Wal-Mart chant before every shift.

NCR had always been a company of people with many years of experience, until about four years ago. If you were hired four years ago you are now approaching the end of your cerreer at NCR. Did you waste that time or did you enhance your resume? When NCR won the election it meant that NCR could now be "Young and lean". Going forward it may not be enough of a boost to your resume to justify working for NCR at all.

To the poster who wrote:

Yes, that's exactly what I'm saying.

The money spent by any union in order to help grow the membership and help workers to organize is a scarce resource that was supplied by no one other then the members themselves. Through the dues they pay, the membership votes to use a portion of that money towards helping others organize.

The IBEW provided the CE's of NCR the resources (at significant cost) to help a virtual group of workers successfully petition the NLRB for 3 elections. Yet each time the CE's voted no.

The IBEW's goal was to help you unionize, negotiate better for wages and benefits and to have a voice. Membership dues are a necessary thing, but not their objective or their goal.

After spending countless hours of labor and a significant amount of members dues, how many CE's were successful in forming a union: 0

Yup- I'd pretty sure they're done with helping.

I would say never give up! After another no raise, countless hours of overtime, working through your lunch hours, people will be ready!

The company representatives have told you that it's very hard to get rid of a union once you have one. The truth is that it's very hard to organize into a union and also hard to keep your union once it's formed.
They've fooled you twice, shame on you.

Once again NCR management has lied to achieve the goal that they want, a work force that is scared into working for free to avoid getting in trouble. They keep adding new customers and taking on more work, but never hire anyone except whip weilding managers that try to browbeat you into thinking that if you don't come in early, leave late, and eat lunch between calls, that you will get fired and not have a job in this lousy economy, but, I hope, some day they won't have enough left to pay all these managers they hire to beat up the people, and all they will have left is a bunch of untrained people out there and the loss of customers will be dramatic, all that will be left is wal-mart because they buy equipment thats not hard to fix, and they will give the servers and other harder to fix stuff to another vendor that treats thier workers like something other than an animal. Good luck to everyone, I hope to be retired from this rat race soon, and that will be one less of us rebanded people out of the force to be replaced by some contractor, because thats all they are doing now, is giving work to contractors and when they screw it up, the calls come flowing to the field.

In response to the Post:
Michelle
Are you stating fact or your personal opinion?

I'd say I'm giving you both actually.
There were 3 elections held.
1st- New England Vote was very close.
2nd- Was in Southern California. Only needed 8 more votes to have a union.
3rd- New Englands 2nd Election
Vote was 54- to have a union
119- did not want a union

The CE's sent a clear message.

My personal feeling about this:
65% of the this group signed cards and told us they wanted change,a union, and would vote yes. But they voted NO in the election. To me: it was like a slap in the face and Yes,I took it personally. To me, this has always been very personal. I was a CE, I was one of you. I only got involved in any of this in order to help the CE's because I believe what the CE's are put through is unfair not to mention illegal.

Anyways,I was told shortly after that time, and based on the results of New Englands vote: the IBEW at this time has no plans to continue involvement in any further NCR organizing.

To summarize the whole experience:
It was Good vs. Evil
I'm sad to say: Evil won.
119 to 54

With Deepest Regret,
Michelle Teeter
